The poor horses and owners. The should shoot them in the bloody eyes when they catch them or have their eyes removed surgically or amputate their arms so they can't hold a gun or anything else.

How awful to treat any animal this way.
and to an obviously trusting horse to allow someone so close to do such a thing particularly the shire as he only had one eye ( makes you want to cry !!!).

i hope they catch the person responsible and throw the book at them.

my thoughts are with the owner of the surviving horse and i hope for a speedy recovery.
I can only imagine the scene when they were found and the thought of it makes me sad and angry

And we are meant to be a nation of animal lovers?? What possible joy can you get from seeing an animal writing in agony with its eye blasted away? To take away the life on an animal through something as barbaric as what they have done, I feel so sorry for the horse who has won his battle with cancer at the expense of losing his eye, only to loose his other one. I feel very sad. Sick sick people. Probably high on drugs or something. Too lazy to get a job and undoubtedly jealous of people who keep horses. No justification whatsoever, but just goes to show how patheticly weak and inhuman such people are. They should be locked away for life.

Poor horses and poor owners - I can't imagine how it must feel to have your horse assaulted like this.

I really wish the punishment could fit the crime - i.e. as has already been mentioned, shoot the perpetrators' eyes out & see how they like it. As it is, if caught they would prob get a feeble 'punishment' like 6 weeks in a young offenders' institute, suspended cos they've come out with some pathetic sob story. I.e. get away scot free.
