I finally thought I was actually getting through to my horse and we were finally working together. He was going beautifully for about 2 months, flatwork and jumping. However over the last 5 weeks he's gone staright back to sqaure one. At first I thought he'd got bored of behaving or was just pushing his luck, but now I think he's tweaked something in his back/neck, as he'd got out of the habbit of leaning on my right hand and now he's gone back to doing that more than ever. I used an equine sports massage thearapist earlier in the year when he was getting really tense over his neck but i'm not sure wether to get her out again or go for an actual chiropractor?
Also can you guys recommend a good back person in the Oxford/Bucks area. I'm located near Bicester.

Thanks x

I can recommend Lee Harris. He has been to see Nessie on various occasions over the past 3 years and she has always been much better afterwards. He specialises in Equetouch massage and treats the whole body not just one area. He is based at Southmoor, Oxfordshire so in the right sort of area.

Alternatively, Sherrie Scott; an amazing lady who works wonders. Sherrie is a physiotherapist but again looks at the whole horse when treating.

PM me if you are interested and I'll pass on phone nos.

I use Fiona Dowdell, she's based near Winslow in Bucks. She's treated my mare a few times and pony has always seemed to have felt a difference/ benefit after.

Pm me if you'd like her number

I use one called Laura Smith she is an EBW and is extremely thorough and knowledgeable. She ussed to live in oxford but is now in Suffolk but I am pretty sure she makes regular trips up to see clients. My boy was leaning terribly and dropping through the shoulder it was dricing me mad as nothing I seemed to do in the school helped at all. Laura did a really good job with him and was great for giving follow up advice. Gave me loads of exercises and stretches to do which have helped prevent the problem happening again. I would highly recomend her no is 07855412240.

Issues presenting themselves as "back" problems may be secondary to the actual problem. This is why it is so important to work with your team which includes your vet, trainer, farrier, massage therapist/chiropractor, saddler, dentist etc.
Joint problems, reproductive issues, hormones, saddle fit, dentistry, training, hoof imbalance, nutrition...the list goes on; can all present sensitive backs.
My point is that you don't just have someone address the back, they should address the whole horse.
