Who would you report vicious behaviour to?

Was talking with friend today discussing those that are downright nasty to their horses.Don't mean starving etc cos ok you phone ILPH/SSPCA/RSPCA and tbh we know how ineffectual these organisations can be at getting things done for what appears obvious abuse.I mean horses getting battered/thrashed/screamed at for owner/riders shortcomings or tbh for any reason
Just who on earth could you report it to esp if YO doesn't really do anything?
Its seems to be a sort of gap to what we think of as abuse to this sort of 'lesser' type of abuse to what can do about it.
I mean I couldn't phone ILPH/SSPCA and say without video proof that A beats her horse up every day could I ??
this is hypothetical!

Suggest that the owners do a Horse Owners Certificate through the BHS.

Tell the BHS Welfare Officer. There should be one in every county. They are experienced horse owners, have been trained and it is all confidential.

Ah but then are you not getting into a bit of a sticky thing there videoing someone without their knoweledge esp if under 14?

Say owners don't listen, think that its acceptable to treat this way?
Would BHS officer come talk to person/persons?
Would ILPH also come out if contacted as don't know if they do that sort of thing?

If so talk to parents if no luck threaten them with the same beating from you!!!

The RSPCA is really the only body you could report to. You would have to prove that the offender caused the animal unecessary suffering for an offence under the 2006 act so would suggest videoing what they do would be the only way. A vet would have to examine the horse to support this too. I'm dealing with a case at the moment where a pit bull cross has been allowed to savage and kill a domestic cat causing fairly obvious suffering but it will be a long haul I can tell you!

Personally I would be shoving a prickly broom under their nose and threaten to rectally insert it if they continue to abuse their horse. Just make sure you get it on video first in case they try to get you done for assault!

Proverbial sun and a*** are what spring to mind there.

Just thinking that you go along thinking their horse nothing you can do!But why??So wrong that so little can be done lthrough proper channels!Saddens me greatly.
and animal continues to suffer tho not nescessarily in physical marks to prove anything tho can't say same mentally which imo is just as bad as horse then usually labelled as nutter/rearer etc through no fault of its own.
PS am not a tree hugger or anything like that, just don't think I am just plain mean to my horses
