I have just got an email saying that I have an interview at the Royal Veterinary College for the BVetMed course!!!

Long story short - I had a fairly horrendous family life during my teenage years and b*ggered up at school. I went off travelling, decided I wanted to make something of myself, did a degree in Biology. Then applied to vet school last year, got an interview but didn't get in

Silly daddy was in intensive care though so i didn't do a great interview and I had to move in with my folks to help out (four months in hospital following massive stroke).

I have since done A-level chemistry in night school over 9 months and got an A, reapplied.........AND HAVE AN INTERVIEW!

WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOP!!!!!!!!!!!!

fingers, toes and hooves crossed please!!!!!

Well done, good luck with all the preparation work and the interview. I have followed your story for a while and really hope you get in this time, I think they'd struggle to find anybody better suited or more committed from what I've read.

Thanks so much guys! I am so pleased......but trying to still be realistic about it. I REALLY want it......I just need to prove it to them.

It's on 3rd of March so I am busy scouring the internet for some reading material. I am going to Gambia for two weeks next Thursday and was planning on doing lots of reading so will take some veterinary ethics books etc.

Make sure you mention the trip to Gambia in the interview (I went to India, and they were really interested in it in my interview!)

remember to smile! Even if they don't seem to be, if you are smiling (Not

just a

is enough) it makes you appear more confident, friendly, and ammenable which is what they are looking for!

don't try to lie, the RVC are very good at catching you out! (I made this mistake but managed to just about explain my way out of it!)

Just look smart, smile and sell yourself like you are the best thing since sliced bread!

(without being cocky!)

Hope the snow clears up a bit too as the campus is beautiful when its sunny!

Thanks guys.

Monty is ok. I am speaking to the farmer about having our own field so he can have more hay at night. He's still a pain in the arse (literally had to DRAG him out for breakfast, think he's anorexic lol!). If he won't let me do it then I will persevere for this year and then think about going somewhere he can have his own field with Zoom.

Lucy - thanks for the tips. I made the mistake last year of bringing up a subject I knew very little about so won't make that mistake this year!

Well done!

I did my vet degree at the RVC

They must be very impressed with your commitment and determination. If you want any more interview tips (although I'm sure you have a pretty good idea!) just let me know.

Well done - you deserve it for being so single minded and determined to get your education. They'd be mad not to give you a place!
