All four have come in today - mare is incredibly footsore, Spike is absolutely crippled with what i suspect to be an abscess - and Alf has totally lost it because the mare is in season and is making herself VERY available. He was screaming his head off and mounting her when I arrived this morning - so have confined them to barracks and given them a stern talking to about behaviour unfitting to a pair of senior citizens!

Can I have a few pus vibes, and some ideas for sorting out the rampant non-stallion please!

Oh dear. One of those days!!!

Sending pus-excretion vibes your way, but having a little giggle about Alf - my old boy used to be like that, luckily the current one just gets grumpy when mares try to flirt!

He's such a dirty old man! Normally only demonstrates his manly side by giving it a bit of verbal when we meet a rather opinionated spanish stallion out hacking, but this morning, he decided to take his relationship with Lola to a new level! She was delighted, but she's a rather fragile old TB, and he's 17.1hh of solid muscle - not a great combination for a bit of casual how's your father!

My Jay is a bit of a dirty middle aged man. He does not even need a mare to show off to.

He has a "manly moment" every morning, after his morning pee but before his post pee poo. He drops it out, slaps his belly and has a good groan with a dreamy look. There is no rushing his "manly moment", the rest of the day just has to wait until he is finished.

Oh dear!! Well, you can't blame them, even OAP's need some lovin'! Worse was when we arrived at the yard one day to find my friend's beautiful new 4 year old being seen to by another friend's 22 year old gelding!!! That was a little bit worrying ;)

I've had to erect a barricade to stop them touching noses, as it sets him off again! Luckily he is a complete wimp, so a couple of planks and a lead rope is enough to make him hide in his stable!

Sorry to say I have no advise to give here, just roared with laughter at all these threads. Boys will be boys lol, thank god I have a girlie and she is really a geezer bird, not girlie at all, so have the best of both worlds. They seem to get worse with age (sniggers) Good luck with keeping him under control

Theres not really anything I can do about it. He's not a rig, so no medical intervention is possible. I just have to suffer a few days of madness occasionally! He is a silly old fool!
