Who's Dog Suffers from Flatulence?

Does anyone else's dog seem to suffer from excessivley stinky wind? We have a 11 month old Springer who lately seems to have lost control of his bodily functions.
he is on dry food so i can't think it is his diet. We are writing this with pegs on our noses!

it drives me mad.....they stink!!!!!!!!!!!
Mine are both on dry food also.
would love a solution.

My rotti farts...but it does not smell of anything...she does look round on her self...as she is so shocked by the sounds coming from her arse

my OH's on the other hand are seriously rank

Especially when sharing back seat of car (which he objects to - a dog of his size and status is entitled to all 3 seats in the back, not just the two with his bed on (he's harnessed, but can still stretch out to full size.

Generally worst when he's found a deli field (containing ruminant, especially sheep, poo)

Seriously charcoal tablets do work alternative is a big cork but then he might blow your windows out .

One of our Labs stinks.....to the point that now she actually answers to Stinky, because whenever she farts I yell at her to go out! ugh! dog fart is bad......cat fart possibly even worse though!

LOL - what makes you think that dried food doesn't make them fart?

We had to change our dogs from one dried food to another because the smell that they made was so bad. Even now, one little terrier can clear the room when seh gets going

Indie had the foulest wind ever but it was me that suffered...she couldn't care less

She was getting Butchers Tripe mixed in with her dry food but the wind got better when I changed to Chappie

Our Rottie is horrendous, and she doesn't care... at least my GSD X lools a little embarrased, even if he does get up and walk off leaving it with us!!

Poor you

But it obviously is the food.... as it is breaking down food in the intestine that creates gases - and the type of gas produced depends on the type of food they eat

So.... change the food

Try giving them actimel or yakult.

My dog suffers same problem but these help alot.

Also if thier not feeling well

Don't have problems with them farting, but one in particular is very good at coming and gazing lovingly into your face and emitting a wonderful tripey burp!

I found he had stinky wind when he'd eaten something he shouldn't have in the field - you know dead birds, bits of deer, badger etc etc, he loved dead carcasses (sp?!). He loved to raid bins & picnics!!!! He also had stinky bottom syndrome if he had human food or any friends gave him their doggy tidbits!!! We just kept a large can of air freshener to hand!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oooooo and the other time he had a very very stinky bottom was when friends came to visit, he wouldn't have stinky problems for days and days then a friend would come over and he was a stink bomb! I came to the conclusion it was a territorial thing???!!!!

Do any of those scenarios ring a bell to you KBSaff????

The best one was when he farted sat on the carpet then stood up and sniffed the floor.

Sorry, my Dally died just over a week ago and its been good to reminisce over his stinky bottom!!!!!!!! I'm LOL as I type and the boss is giving me a funny look!!!!!
