The problem with rug posts is we don't know the horse, and the weather in that area, what the horse is used to etc.

Seasonal thing, give it a couple of months and we'll be back to fly repellent and sunblock ;) :D

I rarely read them as all this tog rating is over my head. Blankets are LW, MW or HW as far as I am concerned, you double up if they are cold and remove them if they are warm.

Not really, don't forget that there are new owners on here that just want to confirm that they are doing things right.....

Much prefer question posts, than the slagging off posts saying that' horse over/under rugged' perhaps those people just wanted a bit of advice but were scared to ask!!!!!!

I find the problem being people posting simply to have a bitch about other horse owners ;)
Over ruggers (as determined by the poster) are evil, as is chucking them out without rugs on a mild(er) day for an hours sun on their backs.
If people would mind their own once in a while instead of assuming their way is the only way ,thus anyone doing anything different is a Bad Owner the horse would would be much nicer!

I dont care for a second. I do what I do with any thread that has a title thats obviously about something Im not interested in...skip over it and click on another :)

You need to join the Huggly Horsemanship groups and learn how to do it properly!!!!

THis is a forum designed for horsey people to ask each other questions. It is winter and rugging is top of the agenda. In the summer it will be predominated by fly sprays and grazing.

If you don't like it, and you don't want to be a part of it- then don't read them.

yes but fly sprays and grazing dont turn into a bitching match

I know I don't have to read them but but but... you just do don't you and then roll your eyes, then start a new one taking the mick... oh... oops.

Plus, not much else going on.... I think I might start migrating to other "rooms"........

a post asking a Q about what rug because someone is unsure if they've got it right is fine, but a post just stating what weight each individual horse is wearing is a bit errrrr boring;) i mean at least they could make it interesting by telling us what colour and make it is too, :p:p

Will go and edit my post :D:p

;) Oh but they do, especially the grazing ones :D

Try asking if it is reasonable to expect a 2 acre paddock to sustain x number of horses in the height of drought ridden summer ;)
