Me for one, it's my day off and going to go a short pootle about 6pm ish with some friends (they're walking) and then one of my friends is going to school the boy. He'll get a nice wash off with his mint wash after.

Got to pop to tack shop first as need fly spray!!

Have already been (am self employe so can go when I please!). Went early coz knew it was gonna be a hot one, back just after 11 a.m. and phew was it hot.

I've got two horses on the go at the mo; and rode the sweet-itchy one this morning as he gets quite stressy if ridden in the evening when the midges are around and biting!

Will probably take little mare this evening, will aim to go for a quick trot and a bit of canter somewhere.

Emmm, OP, you mentioned a "mint wash" ........ who makes it & where do you buy it??? Sounds like just the thing my boy would enjoy. We've got a "lavendar wash" but don't think have encountered the mint wash??

As far as I recall it's from the same company that do the lavender one. It's barrier health I think?? White bottle/blue ish writing. Brilliant stuff xx

Me!! I'm gonna do some roadwork and lots of trotting. I hope I don't have a repeat performance of yesterdays hack (I fell off!)

Ahh, OK, thanx, I'll have a poke around at local tack shop place.

Came back this morning, boiling hot, bathed His Lordship down with his lavendar wash (pampered blimmin animal!!), then thought Oh what the heck and put some in a bucket and sloshed it over meself!!! Bliss, blimmin bliss! Fantastic! Highly recommend. Stuff the lavendar wash for horsey, I'm having it from now on.

Me! Though ive been riding after work for nearly two weeks now, just find it much easier than rushing around at lunch times :)

We're boxing down to the beach - planned a couple of weeks ago, didn't bank on this weather so imagine we will be dodging lots of kids, dogs, etc, etc. And it's the first time I've ever been with my mare - wish me luck!!!!!

Just wish I was brave enough to go bareback but those days are long gone for me ......

Me too!! we used to hack miles bareback to get to the beach when we were kids loads of us used to go and someone always ended up hacking home after a dunking :) those were the days!!
I used to own a clydsdale and 2 of use used to ride her down and stop for an icecream in the shop on the way back and she'd eat half of it - what a sight we were!

Me .... I hope ..... I havent ridden for a few weeks, and my daughter hasnt ridden since Sunday when she had a fall XC, so we are going for a confidence boosting plod .... they are normally the ones that turn in to a nightmare when we get caught up in a stampede of wild ponies, so wish us luck!

Waiting for it to cool down and if OH can drag himself away from work, we'll go for a ride to the pub. Otherwise I'll have to ride and lead as I don't fancy doing any thing strenous until the horses and I have acclimatized to the sudden onset of summer.

I missed the heat and was on by 5.30am! First time I have ever ridden quite that early and it was lovely!

Really set me up in a good mood and helped to get me through my day of teaching arsey teenagers! Am definitely going to do it more often!

Im so jealous of u all i woke up this morning thinkin wht a beautiul day to go for a morning / evening hack! If only i had a horse! Haha
Hope u all have fun !!! :D

Just got back - had a fantastic time (once my nerves had settled :D). My mare was a star, loaded/unloaded perfectly. The world and his wife was out tonight but it was lovely in the sea breeze and a welcome relief for the horses as the temperature was much higher inland.

We walked for about 45 mins and then turned for home and had a "Yee Ha" gallop (the fastest she had ever been!!!! Friend commented she had never seen her go so fast).

We were the only horses down there, really thought there would be others about.

Both horses were brilliant being loaded on the return journey even with model planes wizzing overhead and a little crowd of spectators :D.

We all returned back to the stables, safe, happy and very tired and apologies to anyone who got stuck behind the horse box !
