Who's going to save the Parelli horses?

[ QUOTE ]
You lot do not deserve my knowledge of parelli. When i next go to a Parelli clinic i will take with me the thoughts that something i believe in and cherish is a wind up.i cannot understand why everyone does not practise parelli when so much good comes of it.

[/ QUOTE ]
Probably for the same reason that the church of Scientology is only popular in certain circles...

That's a very good analogy!

Rema, your horses look quite happy, you must be doing something wrong. You need to go to more clinics to learn and spend some more money or you'll never have a relationship with your horse.

i am not a rude person just believe what i believe. But i do not understand why you still think i am on a wind up.I will give you the link to the Parelli site and you will see that everything i have said and believe in is part of the Parelli way.

I may be slow on the uptake here (wouldn't surprise me none) but what purpose does pulling a horse by its tail serve? What does it mean when another horse does it?

And no I'm not trying to wind anyone up - just don't get it

Have you tried to play ball with your horse?.It can be such a fun game.My horses adore it.They cannot wait to play. You really must try it.

[/ QUOTE ]

Do I do this while pulling my horses tail? Or do I pull him by his tail to the ball? Or do I pull his tail if he won't play with the ball? Or do I pull his tail if he bursts the ball??

Hi everyone, I've just joined the forum - reading all the Parelli posts - seems like it gets the emotions running.....anyhow, here's my two pence worth - we watch Parelli from time to time on Sky. You'd have to be pretty thick not to appreciate the skill involved as PP is obviously an amazing horseman. It certainly opens your eyes to a few possibilities, and I honestly think most of us would benefit if we were to spend some time with a horseman of his calibre..BUT.. I don't much care for the whole neatly packaged and marketed 'product', think that it is almost religious in it's fervour, and have to say that some of it's exponents are decidedly flakey! Mind you, the equestrian world seems to have more than it's fair share of flakey types.....So, I hope I haven't offended either 'side' in the debate with my first post...!

I must be pretty thick, as I don't appreciate PP skills.

You've only offended me by calling me thick as i don't really appreciate the 'skill' shown by Pat or lynda Parelli. Never mind, at least you've participated for Parelli.

I thought that I had a PhD, but apparently that was a clerical error and I am really a thickie.

I do beg your pardon but i missed your post.I am far from scared to stand up in what i believe.Tail pulling is part of the seven games. It is a trust test betwwen you and your horse.A horse must trust you if you are asking him to back up just by gently pulling its tail.If a horse did not trust you it will kick you simple.

Are there safer ways to find if your horse trusts you in Pirelli, that don't involve the air ambulance and a trip to casualty?

Well, I don't know if I am at the next stage or not there yet then, as ALL of my horses go backwards when I say 'back' - I don't pull or push anything, is that good enough or should I try tail-pulling anyway?

Yes, try the tail-pulling, I think the trick is to demoralize them as much as possible in order to gain their respect. Oh and keep laughing at them while you do this, just like Lynda does.

I can vouch for Rema,
I often watch her dragging her horse around the field by his tail. When she has finished she ventures back to the stables. She then gets out her big soft cushion and sits on it whilst making beads.

What she hasn't told you all is that she also chants positive spiritual messages to her horses by snorting through her nose and waving a leg in the air at the same time.

I could watch her for hours, she is so talented and oh soooo special.

It might, but it will come back for revenge and I'm not brave enough to face it
