Did a depressing thing yesterday and brought home the summer sheets to wash and put away and out came the heavy stable rugs. I don't usually put the heavy stable rugs on till November but I've had to do it early this year.

Anyone else depressed that winter seems to have come early this year and are rugging up early?

Mine are in the following

Digs (31) A medium and a heavy

Moose (16) a bonded fleece and a medium

Indles (6) TB - a bonded fleece and a heavy

they are all okay and not hot, so it must be bloomin cold!

I agree, it's so depressing now that the cold weather has arrived. Must dig out my woolly gloves for today. I chaser clipped my TB on Sunday, he has had medium weights on so far, but have just seen it's meant to be 0 or below tonight so HW might have to come out. But then it's meant to get warmer again - we need a bigger rug rack for all the choices of rugs!

ive had them out since september :(

My lad really feels the cold..poor guy..

he has his duvet and his heavyweight on..but he is also clipped...

my new mare just has her medium weight on although she will be getting her duvet when she is clipped !
ANd as for myself i have all of my heavyweight clothes on at once, Scotland is freeeeeezing, brrrrrrr

my lad is unclipped and stabled and in a lightweight turnout with neck overnight. Although tonight i will be moving him up to a medium with neck turnout for overnight

I'm not using stable rugs at the moment to save some money on morning turnout as i dont have to pay for rug change now.

Gosh, must be lucky here in central/south. It's dry and fairly sunny during the day and although the temp is going down to 4/5ish at night it's still dry.
My x-breed is low chaser clipped and still out overnight, only in a lightweight wug, but then he has 80% of his yak like winter coat!

Mines having a heavy weight without a neck on tonight as he just hadn't been warm enough the last couple of mornings. He is hunter clipped.

My mare is clipped out and is still fine, if not a little toasty, with just a medium with neck at night, and a lightweight no fill in the field. I'm shocked!

it's still around 8 degrees (apparently) overnight in glasvegas and my usually wimpy warmblood has been clipped and is still in his lightweight.
that said, I think I'll be putting his medium weight on shortly - blimmin freezing this morning :(
car thermometer said it was down to 3 degrees
