We are getting a healer/horse whisperer lady out to the yard next week. She does a technique similar to reiki which shows where there are energy blockages in your horse and she also 'speaks' to them. She was up the other week and did a few and everyone seemed very impressed so I've booked my stroppy mare in for her next visit. I've always been a bit sceptical so I was just wondering what everyone else's experience has been. Did you think it was worth it, did you learn anything new about your horse and did your horse have anything to say about you! I am a bit worried about what my horse might say about me! One of the horses that got done last time complained that its owner had put on weight!
I'd be interested to hear your experiences - good or bad.

Had no previous experience, but would like to say, Please post and let us know how it went! I would be interesting to see what you thought of it! :)

Whereabouts are you, and who are you having out? Sounds like a Shiatsu treatment?

I do similar stuff myself, and can verify first hand its not all talk - although, like anything else there are good and bad practitioners.

Have fun and let us know how you get on.

Me - talked into it by a mate - load of rubbish - i was very disappointed - worst money ever spent!!

ive never had one but my friend had one to her horse which is stabled approx 2 miles from mine and she was SO GOOD that she even managed to tell my mate that MY mare is carrying twins (due September) because she has spoken to my mare and she told her that she is carrying twins but that I don;t know yet !!!! she must talk very loudly cause she's never been near my horse and if I ever catch up with her she's going to get told to keep her nose out of my business (if my mare has twins i'll eat my hat !).

I have had a horse whisperer out to my horse, he hated clippers and we had to get the vet out to sedate him every time we wanted to clip him. I had Paddy Gracey that has trained with Kelly Marks and Monty Roberts, he was brilliant. My horse just stands there now, not even tied up while you clip him.

I'm in Scotland! The lady is called Helen Geddes and I think she's based in Ayrshire. I don't think it's shiatsu as she doesn't actually touch them, just sort of passes her hands over them and somehow feels their energy. Its hard to describe but seemed effective at identifying areas where the horses were feeling discomfort.
I'll be happy to provide an update for you next week.
