I really dont know what has got into my boy...my normal sane, happy go lucky horse had turned in a jumping, spooking little monster, both on the ground and ridden...

Anyone else dealing with the same thing?

:)

New grass? We always go through the spring sillys. With all the rain if you've had a growth of new grass the sugar might be sending him loopy. We seem to be OK at the moment - but we've had our fair share of spring grass madness!

Colt baby is no different.

TB however...well...about a week or so of not being able to catch the swine now. Happy to have him used for target practice lol.

Mine! He is driving me mad!

Won't stand still when tied, breaking free to run back to said grass, pracing about, doing the wall of death when on the lunge. Anther one for target practice.

How does everyone else deal with them when they are like this? Mag ox? Calmer? Extra work?

My so called 'sensible' one is very wired atm!!

I lent him to a friend for the last day of our RC camp, and I ended up having to get on him in the XC lesson as he was just galloping past jumps and bucking....

Said friend was quite relieved when I took over, but I had a hoot as he is usually a quiet plod!

Yes - we have same thing every year. Only 'problem' is that my 21 year old seems to be getting younger and more silly each year!

I love it!

Oh no!! Hope you're ok Angelz!

I let my boy have a blast on the lunge line last night, he bucked, bronked and galloped round for 20 minutes before finally calming down to a nice trot! He seemed a lot calmer this morning, so will be doing the same tonight and before I ride until he calms down!

Angelez that is awful to hear, my thoughts are most certainly with you and i wish you a full and thorough recovery. On a more selfish note, i was pleased to see this thread as my normally spooky but perfect boy has become a bit lethal of late!! It is almost like riding a highly charged, super sensitive, nutter!! Last week i rode everyday to try and get to the bottom of whatever was happening (resulting in a fitter spooking machine!!) and instead of enjoying my rides i was actually dreading them!! In fairness he is getting better and was almost his normal self last night but i was on the verge of seeking vets, back, saadle help as i was baffled as to what was going on, this thread has calmed me down a bit, so thankyou!!

Ems gone totally nuts! she ambled over to me in the field the other day looking very hard done by as she wanted her tea, i turned my back to walk to the feed shed and shes bucking and farting around all over the shop like a goodun!

Mine!! My grey boy is affectionately known as little git at the moment. His behaviour is out of order lol. Lack of proper work due to the weather and a plentyful supply of the green stuff has sent him loopy.

Well the mares are all in season and driving the boys loopy, this with spring grass makes hacks out interesting the normally sane cob who always is at the back of a hack wants to be up close to the connie pony mare!! My big boy wants to be next to 16.2tb mare and penny is just being a husssy!. But no real bad behaviour except barging and dragging us about when turning out ect.
