Ours have unfortunately been in all year due to too much grass! I'd love them to be out all year, but our land gets too muddy, and they get mudrash... No rugs though - apart from fly rugs still - there are still midges around and one get sweet itch.
Mine is now in, mainly because temp dropped last wk for several nights in a row and also because I would like to keep some grass! But it's a shock to be mucking out proper again
Old Boy and Friesian are in at night. Just cos it keeps the old boy sane if his field mate is also in. But I also get a good nights sleep knowing that the friesian is not plotting to visit the girlies over the road!
Ponies are still out - naked. Hopefully will stay out till fields turn muddy.
Mine are all in and the WB has been rugeed since mid August - he started growing winter woolies, got so hairy that this weekend it all came off and is now snuggled up in his duvet. TB's are in but only wearing summer sheets. I do have the coldest horse in the world I reckon, if he's to cold he will drag a spare rug of his rug rail and sleep on it Felt mean clipping him but was sweating to much when worked with all his fluff
Mine might be in.... or they might be out My stables are in the middle of my field so and they have free access to them. I'm guessing the hay I left will have all gone by now so they will probably both be outside... although judging by the reduced amount of poo I picked from the field and the increased amount I picked out of the straw, I'd say it's about 50/50. TB not rugged yet. Coblet yearling will remain naked all winter.
Mine are out 24/7 but have rugged Toff coz shes looking stiff and shes super wooly. Samba gets fed in the stable/shelter and doesnt really wanna come out of it. I think she likes her luxurys lol shes got a bed down and is obv sleeping in it as shes covered in shavings in the morning so she puts her self in as she sees fit I think. Brilliant arrangement.
I keep my horse at home , and i keep her in overnight all the year round, as i have 12 acres and more grass than i know what to do with , she does wear a grazing muzzle while out in the field from april to october.
Mine are in since last week, was really hoping not to have to put them in until november, as after last winter, never wanted to muck out another stable again. However, NO GRASS WHATSOEVER means that i'm back mucking out!! I was feeding in the field, but they were starting to wreck it so put em in.
