My haffie is out. He's well rugged and getting plenty of hay plus a balancer feed every day. He seems to be doing fine. I've not had a horse out 24/7 in winter before (most livery yards don't seem to allow it anymore) and i was quite worried but honestly, I think a lot of the time we worry too much about it.
The herd of meat ponies up the road (wild Dartmoors bought cheap off moors who will be sent to France in the spring by the farmer) are out unrugged, no hay, nothing and seem absolutely fine. None look thin, most look plump.
