Who's horses are still out at night.............

mine are out and naked (well i say that my little one could pass for a mini mammoth

) they will start coming in as soon as the grass is poor i am amazed at how much grass i have left!!! but im in no rush to get them it

Lottie and her 5 1/2 month old foal Spyro are still out 24/7 unrugged, Lottie will live out all year round but when Spyro is weaned in a month he will live in as the other pony he is going out with lives in, so he will have to, Mouse came in from the begining of september when i clipped her, she goes out at 8.30am and is standing by the gate calling at 1pm although i refuse to get her in till 3.30-4pm, strange horse!

Mine's still out, and long may this weather continue, as if the long range forecast is right he can stay out all of next week too whilst I am on hols. He is loving not being in yet, and I hope his whole 3 week holiday is spent in the field, best thing for him really. Then he will come in the first weekend of Nov to be clipped and start working again. He's not rugged, doesn't need one ATM.

Mine is out still, she is chaser clipped and in a medium weight T/O.

She seems fine - in fact is looking tubbier than she has all summer. Keep em out as long as possible is my theory as the fields will be shut for winter soon.

My mare is in cos she has been on box rest most of the summer and now she is allowed out in the day but don't want her out for too long so she is still in a night. Jigsaw is still out at night, he's at the local college and they don't get a lot of turnout in the winter when they are in at night so have asked for him to stay out at night for as long as possible, i think they are all coming in this weekend or next though

Our two big mares live out all year, they are both in lightweight turnouts at the moment but both have field shelters. Although one of them is in a restricted paddock, as she is on the closest she can get to box rest, so will come in at night if it starts raining again - otherwise she will drown in mud in there!
Little mare in at night now as she has had lami in the past so paranoid about frosty mornings - better safe than sorry! All 3 mare are unclipped, I may give 2 big ones a bib/belly at some point, depending if M comes back into work at xmas (she lived out fully clipped all last year!) and if T starts sweating when ridden. She is OK so far.
My lad had a full clip about 3 weeks ago, he's still out 24/7 in a MW. Seems OK so far, but coat has grown back a bit. Once we (finally!) move, he'll come in at night and get another full clip, but that might not be til late nov at this rate. He is having a semi-holiday atm, as the light had gone in the evening now so he is having a few weeks of only being ridden at the weekends, again til we move - can't wait for a floodlit school!!!

Yes and not rugged (shock horror) - one is a NF so NO WAY is she being rugged and the other is the foal who is pretty woollly . . . so ditto . . . and they will remain out 24/7 all winter . . . . (am I a horrible mummy?) . . . but are out on loads of grass, the foal is being fed hard feed and Alfa-A and they will get hay when the grass has gone.

T's only 14.2.......

He's 16.2 and I'm about 5.3. He does look big doesn't he. He's not really - just has a massive head

mine are all out 24/7. A TB fully clipped in a 220g rug, a WB fully clipped in a 200g rug and a old boy connxID blan ket clipped in a 220g rug. I am hoping to leave them out for at least another month if it stays this dry. We have so much grass I would rather them eat grass than hay I am hard feeding the TB and the WB. All of my liveries are also out 24/7

Ditto, mine look shiny & hairy & certainly don't need rugs - unless it really rains.
Shall clip this weekend & rug after that. out at night still & starved during the day in their stables (well apart from the odd handful of hay - evil mum)

Mine came in at night about a week ago, for exactly that reason - BONFIRE NIGHT. After having one horse injure itself during a "surprise" display a couple of years ago (took place in August!!!), I wouldn't take the risk personally, and like to have them tucked up safely in their stables.

Mine are still out! Our main "gang of three" are in a huge meadow with loads of grass and are all well rugged and looking amazing! One is a TB in-foal mare (looks FAT), a previously scrawny just-off-the-racetrack point-to-pointer (he's now FAT) and Selle Francais x KWPN graded 18month old gelding (porky boy!). So, yes, they're still out, warm and look brilliant!

Mine are out & will stay out unless it's raining more than lightly. 5 yo sports horse & 34 yo mare. Both in rugs with hoods, with duvets as required. Neither like being in & they've got a field shelter which they do actually use. They prefer being out & I prefer not mucking out!
