Who's horses are still unrugged?

My native is unrugged, lives out 24/7, is like a Thelwell pony he is still so round and has a coat like a bear. One other is unrugged, the rest have rainsheets or 40g rugs on.

Mine!

The Welshy and the Big Girls (draught types) are all unrugged.

Keep trying to get a rug on my TBx youngster but he thinks it's going to eat him. It's odd because he'll quite happily let me throw a numnah or my jumper over his back but as soon as I try with his folded up rug, he dances around like a loony. I really need to get hubby to hold him still for me but hubby only comes home when it's pitch black outside :(

Still, the vet reckons he's hairy and hardy enough to winter without it, but that's not the point! I want him rugged so he can get used to the feeling and noise of having something on his back.

Pure Arab (see my avatar) out 24/7, not clipped. not rugged, shedloads of grass, fat as a mole and as woolly as a a teddy bear. The stud where she was bred in Germany, sent me this pic of her when she was 2 out with a couple of friends - she's the chestnut on the extreme right. Check out the snow depth and - shock horror - NO RUGS! I commented on the fact they don't rug and the reply in charming not very good English was to the effect that if they are rugged they won't have the coat that nature intended . . . . .

Yep my girl is still naked, unclipped too at the mo & getting very hairy! Still mild here. Thinking about getting her clipped though as took me an hour and a quarter to get the thick caked mud off her to be able to ride the other day! Not been as bad since that day though but is getting hot & sweaty when ridden as her coat gets thicker. Will rug but not over rug when clipped.

Mines been rugged agesss! In MW 24/7. Going shopping for heavyweights this weekend as he's not liking the cold! ....But he is a big wimpy TB!!

i have 1 29 year old in a LW and the rest are all still naked!
so 2 foals (july and august babies), their dams, then others ranging from youngsters to 26 year olds, shetlands to 17.1hh - all naked still and still out 24/7!

Titchy is rugged tonight and tomorrow night, but that's because she's showing on Saturday and I did a pre-bath today! Once the show is done it'll be off with the rug until it's actually cold.

The welsh is clipped and rugged, but in lighter rugs than some of the unclipped horses who are living out and will be living out all winter!

Both of mine are out 24/7 without rugs... and my NFx even has the underside of his neck and chest clipped! (Quick - report me now!)

Both very happy with this arrangement and lightweight rugs will only go on if heavy rain is due :)

All of mine are unrugged and out.
My two ex racers are un rugged and using mud as a rug, they are filthy! Will have rugs when it gets really cold but living out 24/7 so I want them to grow a good coat first.
The two foals are un rugged and out 24/7 atm and my 19yr old pony will have one once clipped and brought back into work. They are all hairy, happy and keeping their weight.

All bar one of mine are unrugged and will stay that way. My poor broodies are both sweating like pigs. What is going on????? (Aberdeenshire)

Same with mine as a yearling/2yo so had to live out unrugged (-23 at times). Weirdly she was in being a companion to injured one for a couple of weeks and I just tied her up (never been tied) and rugged her without issue. I think the being 'in' thing desensitized her. I rugged my other youngster (now 6) as a 2 year old by just chucking it on in the field one morning but I had been out till very late the night before and it may have been a bit of dutch courage.

out 24/7 and unrugged!
but then i'm riding late in the evening in only a jumper so really its not cold at all (normally i have 5 coats on by now!)
