my yearling is in but he has been in every nite since i brought him lol,my other 2 are out without rugs, its not cold, went up to feed my big man earlier and he was toasty
No, i would have done for a change but she has to be as advised by vet to move around after her flushing and sedation, she does have a lightweight on to take the edge off
Lucys out as she is 24/7/365 she is rugged in the winter because she is clipped. She was born on a mountin in wales so can cope when its cold and wet but she hates the heat!
Nope my 3 live out 24/7 although they have access to field shelters except my yearling who keeps jumping out of the field and has again jumped into the neighbouring field and will have to stay there with no shelter until the morning as they have already checked their horses and the gate is padlocked....!
mine are out tonight with lightweight rugs on and if it's still crap in the morning I will bring them in to stand in their stables for a few hours before putting them out again.
i'm a mean mummy and both of mine live out 24/7/365 with a medium weight turn out in winter (will have a heavier this winter as he will be clipped this year)
Mine has 6 weeks complete box rest from injury in his front right hoof which happened during a thunderstorm a couple of weeks ago. So I guess you can definitely say mine is in!
Mare is out at the stud with the other broodmares. Her son is at home and in as all the other horses come in at night during the summer and it wouldn't be fair to leave him out alone (and he likes his fluffy warm bed)
Mine are always in at night, our fields are all electric so no shelter. They only go out at night when very hot and then come in during the day as no shade in the fields. B hates being out at night, walks the fence line and shouts - he's convinced he has been abandoned
D is in tonight although she isn't normally because she's clipped out and her field is on top of a hill with no shelter at all. I don't mind her getting wet but this really persistent rain is horrid with no shelter.
Monty is out. But part of the barn is sectioned off for him to shelter in, even though it's got a bit of a drip which he apparently likes to stand under!
