I sent my foal for weaning and for the duration there she was fine, I was told night before collecting she had been wormed?. On the morning of collection I was told she wasn't well and looked like she was colicing and me being some distance away I was told she needed a vet so they called their vet. When I arrived vet was there and she was fine? now I'm being pursued for the vet bill of £400. Who's liable for this?

I had wormed her with my horses before she went obviously contacting my vets for the recommendation of wormers, now I have no clue what was given by them and it wasn't my vets that attended. Is it right that I'm liable or the foaling place as I never asked for her to be wormed and she was fine for the duration until worming.

Check the contract you signed? There's probably something in it about adhering to their worming policy.

TBH I'd be grateful that it had only cost £400 and I was taking an alive and healthy foal home. I don't see what option the weaning place had other than to call a vet for a colicking foal. IMO you are liable for the vet bill

Did you authorise the wormer? Did you authorise or actually refuse when they said it needed the vet? If they went against your wishes then yes they should pay, but as others have said the stud sounds like they were quick to notice an unwell foal which could have gone either way as they deteriorate quickly, fortunately it had resolved.
