for people with the mega winds and outbursts of hail; have you ridden? have decided to give them both a day off as it is too windy, they would both be totally skitz and dont want a tree to fall down on us!

I got up and took Jerry out this morning, the wind really picked up while we were out so we turned round, he was very sensible considering, we had our first ever little buck ( think the wind went up his bum :grin) but other than that he was fine, there is no way I would take Hector out in this though

We have lovely sunshine at the moment. Its a little windy but nothing to worry about really. Just about to hitch up and take the nags for a gallop along the beach.

We are still riding in this weather, the horses are to sharp if we leave them in...our outdoor is not near any trees though, but we wont be turning out untill this wind calms down a bit.

I rode in the manege this morning at 8.45am, just for half an hour. The winds were howling but she wasn`t too bad. She doesn`t mind the weather really. I was supposed to be going out for a hack with 2 others, but one chickened out, and the other decided that her horse was a little lame!

We went up to ride but by the time we'd finished drinking copious amounts of tea it was just too windy- taking a 4 year old out wouldn't have been much fun lol.

rode yesterday as he had friday off even though he was supposed to be ridden as sharer didnt want to ride in the wind.
got today off & as long as the snow holds off i will ride him tomorrow

I've just got back from hacking out in snow flurries, wind and hail, the indoor arena was being used so I'd no option really. Had a few 'interesting' moments but I'm feeling quite virtuous now.

No!! I value my life too much. It been really windy here for the past few days, combined with spring grass and a week off due to me being injured... I wish I had an indoor to ride in

i have just got back from a dressage training session. The wind was of hurricane proportions! It was in an indoor school, but the sides rattled like mad. I t took me an hour to get him walking forward in a calm manner! Not much fun! Roll on Summer.

*looks out the window*

well, since there's no wind and bright blue skys here, I'll be riding...

Sounds like I'm getting off lightly here compared to everyone else!

I rode this morning despite very strong winds and snow flurries. We have an indoor but I chose to go out as I thought it would be less spooky to be out in the wind than inside listening to the roof rattle.
I needn't of worried as she was a little star and even though she can be quite spooky at times she was fine. Our outdoor doesn't have any waving trees next to it though but there is a barn of cattle right next to it and the farmer was up and down with a tractor feeding them so there was plenty of opportunity for spookage if she had wanted to.
I actually did a bit of pole and gridwork with her but had to use the plastic blocks turned on their sides so they didn't blow over. She went really well I think the wind gave her too much to think about to even think about rushing through the grids!

Yep rode my 4 year old this morning at 8:30am, in the outdoor arena. It was blowing a hoolie but im pleased i rode him.

Shall continue as much as possible just hope the arena doesnt freeze tonight.

Rode my youngster who was very well behaved despite the winds.

Too windy to ride my oldie so I turned him out in the school to play - big mistake, after a few minutes the gate blew open in the wind (yes, I had shut it properly) so Merlin took the opportunity for a nice canter round the yard, down to the fields, with me running after him in complete panic as he could easily have escaped onto the road. Next time its a walk in hand for him.

I was jumping at a local show - luckily jumping was indoors but outside in the warm-up we got caught in a horrible hail shower - not nice trying to ride towards a jump with horse determined to face his bum to the wind!!

Went jumping with my 2, manged to avoid the rain and hail but it was so windy and cold. The warm up was quite sheltered but the jumping arena was really exposed. However they were both very well behaved and I'm glad I went as it was a case of 'will I, won't I?' this morning.
