Who's Rugging tonight??

My TB has a MW on tonight, I found it really chilly when I was poo picking this eve! He's getting on a bit and feels the cold, and I'm also trying to keep the fluff at bay for as long as poss! He's been out in a LW during the night for the past few weeks.

Ours have been in a couple of times recently in the bad wind and rain. Hopefully won't be in full time for another few weeks weather providing.

I'm normally quite tough when it comes to rugs but I've had all the beasties at work in LWs for a good month. One old mare is in a MW.

The fat cobs are still naked.

My excuse is that they are coming into quite alot of work so I want them to save energy:o

I've just got home from my yard (Somerset/Wilts border), I'm not usually out there at this time of night but we were moving the beehives and it's best done late evening...anyway.... it was a good excuse to see how warm the unrugged horses were, and honestly they are all really toasty, even though it's a bit chill tonight.

Our little woolly welshie is naked, but my wimpy mare is in her lw as its been a long battle to get weight on her since I got her in March and she now looks great and don't want her to lose it. Have been stocking up on warm rugs for her :)

Mine is in a light weight stable rug with fill at night and in lightweight turnout in the day, in a couple of weeks shel be going into a m/weight with a neck .. She's a tb :)

My lad has had his waffle cooler on past 2 nights as he has been chilly and fluff standing on end, yet I normally do not even go near a rug until they are clipped... but this weather in this country is all to pot. lol
