Okay bit bored this evening
so thought we'd have a bit of a disscusion;
So At the moment is anyone buying/selling ?
if you're buying what are you looking for ?
if you're selling had much interest ?

pointles post but as I said am very bored.

ETA - i'm not a newbie but had problems logging onto my old account.

I'm selling, and am still having calls daily about the other horses I have for sale. I currently have two awaiting collection that have been vetted and deposits taken, but obviously due to the weather they are still at mine.:o:o One new owner is desperate to get hers back and is trying daily, the other we have wished each other merry xmas and will catch up after xmas as it will hopefully be better by then.......

I am a firm believer that a decent horse at a decent price will sell at anytime of year.;);)

I have a very nice 15.2 competition / dressage / alrounder for sale. Advertised in October and had loads of calls but people seem put off by my location which is very frustrating. Convinced if people actually come he will sell very easily as such a lovely chap, easy to do and great comp record. Had a bout 30-40 calls and no one down!

I always put on my adds Cornwall, so it really can wind me up when people ring, chat for half an hour and then tell me he is too far away - blood boils

im byeing brood mairs, keeping an eye on a few waiting for the price two drop, ones a 17 hand pluss I draft, overs a arab mair, all so looking for a hackney mair, but not seen any i like yet, sorry two say but it a byers market, lots of cheep horses and free horses about,

selling - well will be but not till I can actually get on and ride mine to show! so selling a good SJer and stressage. Will be buying once I have sold mine an event pony..!

Bit of both, the buying wasn't intended! Sold a little welshie D, just backed, sold within 2 days and have brought a 2 y/o racehorse! wooops :P

I just bought although I wasn't actually looking, as I bought a cracking horse earlier this year!! But it just happened that a reining horse I'd admired enough to actually tempt me to me into the sport came up for sale last month, and I like him enough not to want to let him slip away... He complements my other competition horse really well - so I'm pretty happy happy happy!

Although I have to now completely rethink my competition plans for 2011!

Selling a young hack/RC type cob. Limited interest (not including people who want me to practically pay them to take him), any there was has been quashed by impassable roads. Would probably buy a SJ bred youngster if I had this one sold.

Sadly all our horses on the yard have a price tag- the odd one is *overpriced* in the hope they wont ever sell- but dont tell the oh.

We have 6month olds upwards, unbroken/broken some eventing record some just hacking some done pc. Havent bought any for a while as scaled down massivly for the winter, despite seeing a very nice holstein mare other day, Im resisting. Haven't sold any for a couple of weeks. Have got 3people lined up to see one of my eventers, if we can get him in to the arena.

However, we dont advertise very often. mainly through word of mouth.

ETA I am planning a shopping trip to Ireland in New Year to fill a couple of empty stables...

Have a 16.2hh 6 year old event bred mare who I will be selling come spring, I tried at the end of summer but no luck, couldnt afford the time to keep her fit for sale over winter so decided to rough her off till March/April.
Fingers crossed the snow will be gone by then!

I was *considering* selling my boy next year purely as I may be going abroad and would not be keen to loan him out as its one big headache. But having seen what is available on the market, when I return I will have left very big (horse) shoes to fill and will need a huge budget to do it as he has decent paces and a fantastic trainable temperament.

Therefore I will decide come the Spring if it is worth taking him abroad with me, or if now is the time to say goodbye :(

We've got one hunter too many so Fraser, who's terribly polite and more of a ladies' hunter anyway, has to go.:( I've not advertised him due to the weather but put the word around. He did event with me as a 6yo and has 2 points so if he doesn't go by the end of the season he may have to go eventing for a while. :D ;)

have tried to sell 15.3hh TB eventer (intro/pn) with not a lot of interest back in october/november - roughed her off for the winter and will try again to sell in the spring.. hopefully to then replace with a point to pointer!

Im in the buyers corner!! Ive been looking for about a month and tbh cant find anything i really want. Theres two which i will go to view when the snow bogs off but there not exactly what i was after, worth a looksey anyway.

In the buyer's corner for proven eventer for jnr new to horses (been on 14.2s up till now) - trouble is can't get to see anything because of the weather!

May also be selling papered part-bred hannoverian proven event pony as broodmare after Xmas

I sold mine in September, and won't be buying for another 3 years sadly!!!
However 3 for sale at the yard, 15.2hh 5yo mare, a 17hh 5yo by Another Hoarwirthy and a lovely 16.2hh 4yo pure ID by Clonakilty Hero who i adore!

At this point all of mine are for sale and I wouldn't be looking to buy another one. Something appears to be trying to tell me that I'm not cut out for owning horses anymore!

I got a really nice one for sale (just dont get on with him), not one single phone call about him :( will be trying different ad when this weather goes away

I have just bought :D
The new lad arrived 2 and a half weeks ago, just as the weather closed in. I've barely done anything, but I did manage to get out to a local indoor dressage a few days after he arrived, and we did suprisingly very well indeed :D

However since that day the weather has got worse, lessons and comps have been cancelled and we're snowed in. I've cut his hard feed right back and resigned myself to starting him properly in the new year.

buying i hope..... started looking - seen videos of a couple I like and am hoping to see in new year.

and dressager - depending on where you are going moving horses abroad is not that hard, both my sister and I have done it and no regrets at all so hopefully that helps with your decision ..

ooh there are a few buyers out there then :)
mines for sale; 6yr old 15.3 PC/RC type horse - horse you can just go and have fun on really :)

then after I've sold her I'll be buying a new one :D

recently sold tb ex racehorse~~~~lovely boy ,decent horse . took me 2 weeks to sell him ,actually got half dozen interested folk although i was worried at this time of year, current economic climate etc that he may not sell. however been trying to sell super section b 12 hander who i thought would be snapped up since sept. i know my advertising hasnt been brilliant (couple of ads in local saddlers ,feedshops) but all the same thought she would go. not even a phone call!!!!!! she only eats a fraction of what tbred did and doesnt need shoes so not end of world! get impression from others that not many are selling and as an avid advert spotter am seeing a lot readvertised number of times.
