i cannot wait! this winters been so long!

what have you got planned :) ?

13 new horses have just moved to my yard, since its just been the 5 of us for so long and only 2 other people ride, im so excited to have people to ride and hack with again. hope this summer will be all im hoping for!

For what?? Is that that thing where my fields aren't under water? I'm just looking forwards to bring able to walk rather than wade places.

My plan is to sit in the field with the ponies without having to worry about mud or rain. The sun will be shining, there will be a cool breeze & the sky will be a perfect blue.

Now back to reality ...the weather man said tonight - more rain is on the way

ahh you guys stop being negative! im sure we will be rewarded with a lovely summer for putting up with this extended winter  YO said this is the barest he's seen his farm in his whole life!

me too hopefully TL :D where you off to? we've got 3 trailers at the farm now so hoping for a beach trip :D

cheerful :p

My grass is sprouting all over the place so it must be on it's way.

I'm looking forward to the weather that makes you just want to be outside :D

I am hoping to get out jumping once a week - last year we couldn't manage a course (think saddle problems :o), but now we are flying, and i really want to get out and have a go !

I am super excited for summer, get to go home for 3 months :D been at uni since September and have only been home twice, as home is Edinburgh and have the horse at uni its rather expensive to go home and leave him here, have the most amazing summer planned with competing and loads of long hacks, as where I am at uni, the hacking is rubbish, litterally no hacking at all, but have fab facilities for schooling and jumping.

Seriously excited:D:D

My first foal is now 4. He was lightly backed last autumn and turned away for the winter. I drop him back off on Sunday to be restarted

Hes had his teeth done, back checked, vet checked, saddler booked.

All systems a gogo

Cant believe its been 5 years in the making, and i will get to ride him soon. Come on summer:D

I'm so excited about this summer. My arab missed virtually all last year (and half of the year before while the problem was there but undiagnosed)
after a keratoma removal operation followed by the bumpy road back to work. He's such a good boy and he's been bloomin unlucky to have had a few different niggles and injuries besides the foot tumor, but he's looking great now and I just hope so much to have fun with him this year.

We do pleasure rides and hopefully will start novice endurance. :)

That's so lovely. This thread's a great idea.

Just so long as it warms up, I think we'll all be okay. This weekend is supposed to be nice - might even drag the trailer out of hibernation

I am looking forward to the idea of summer... I'm not 100% convinced we're gonna get it, after last year  But the optimistic streak in me (which is pretty small!) is dreaming of long sunny hacks, TREC, endrance, eventing, jumping and playing games with my lads in the field on the long, sultry evenings...

*wanders out of thread dreaming*

Oooooh when the weather improves I'm going to the Centre for Horseback Combat in Herts for horseback archery and jousting! :D :D :D

*CANNOT WAIT*

I'm so excited, I can't wait for long hacks, moseying about the lanes in the sunshine, picking some blackberries as we go, maybe stopping at the pub for a cider...Sigh... :) also hoping for some local showing and intro dressaging :D

Oh WOW! I've just been on their website and it sounds epic. I really cannot afford to be taking my pony for jousting training, but..... :D

My mum bought me vouchers for some sessions on my birthday :D They're totally awesome though - I stalk them on facebook :D

Oh me, me !:D
I had surgery off and on since last April !!! So now been given the all clear and fingers cross it stays that way, got some SERIOUR riding, hacking, bathing ( the horses :) ) and possibly some local competitions.! to catch up on!!!
Cant wait :)

Ah, I'm going to the archery place too! And getting back to some trick riding. Can't wait! I am cheerful about summer really, I've gone into a kind of hysteria about the weather now, after yrsterdays downpours I am back to calf deep water as I walk to the stables across the field. Nothing to do but laugh and dig trenches! Id like to try some endurance and get pony cross country this summer.

I'm looking forward to summer, although the weather will always disappoint as I'm in Australia currently and the weather is pretty amazing right now.

But from August to January I was riding my share horse 4 times a week or so and when I came out to Oz I didn't ride for nearly 2 months and then have ridden twice since then so I'm just looking forward to getting back riding regularly!

Can't wait for long hacks in the countryside, wading in the river, gallops on the stubble fields eventually. Hopefully we might get some transport and get the boys out to a few shows and some XC schooling.

Sadly though returning home means I also have to get a normal job again to be able to fund car to get to the horses etc!

/goes off to search for summer shows in Hampshire

I have planned lots of early morning rides when no one else is around and it is just me, my horsey and the birds singing in the trees. I am looking forward to warm sun on my face and sitting in the garden for breakfast, lunch and tea...BBQs and loads of cycling.

great to hear all your plans, cant remember who posted about finally getting to work with their 4YO but thats great :D my friend whos just moved back with two lightly broken horses says i can help her with them, excited to ride different horses since ive only sat on fox for the last few years :D

Hi weesophz, was me ref the 4yo. Good luck with your friends youngsters, and have fun.
Im not sure if im excited or nervous. I just hope i do my lad justice. If he turns out relatively sensible, i may take him camp in September. Will have to see how he goes, otherwise i'll take his mum.
