One of mine is:rolleyes:

The smooth, shiny 'summer' coat has gone and within the past week I have been replaced with a little pony with a short, soft fluffy coat that is almost making him look super cuddly!

And the cob is frantically shedding his summer coat that was never really there in the first place.

*sigh*...what a crap summer.

Desperately trying to stop one of ours changing her coat - she's qualified for the Search for a Star at HOYS - so she's already wearing three rugs at night and two during the day! Hate doing it but she hasn't got enough coat to clip and if we leave clipping any later than this week she'll look totally motheaten by the first week of October!

Yep my cobby type has what I call his bumfluff look starting and his whiskers are to be proud of lol.My cob x tb is not as hairy as I was expecting but noticed the bumfluff in between her front legs. :)

Yup! Our wee fella has his short fluffy coat in, he's so soft! Seems ashame to clip it off really but once he's going he's a sweaty little bugger <3 xx

All 3 of mine are moulting and the TB is now sporting a very fuzzy neck! Just sent clipper blades in to be sharpened ready for clipping!
Was so cold last night the TB was in a medium combo!!!!

Both my Sec A and WB!

Do you remember last autumn us all clipping early as horse were getting sweaty in the fields with the hot spell we had? Wonder if it'll be the same this year!

MEMO TO SELF: get clippers serviced!

I noticed my boy had fluffed himself up last night when the temp. dropped suddenly, so I think it's coming onto winter coat time.

Might have to get my instructor to clip him earlier this year

Mine is too :( Rubbish isn't it when we haven't even seen summer?!

I rugged up for the first time last night and think I'll just carry that on from now on to try and deter the fluffiness!!

My Section A only shed her winter coat for about 6 weeks this summer. She's never one to take a risk with the weather!

Yes, both Polly and Bentley are getting hairy! It's always a big fight to clip Polly and as she's only ridden for about half an hour a day we decided after she almost killed us a couple of years ago that it's not really worth it that much so she'll be rugged up soon, dependant on the weather so she doesn't get too woolley!

I will be clipping Bentley for the first time this year, he lived out for the whole of last winter so was unclipped but got very sweaty when he was worked. Think I'll be clipping him in a few weeks time the way he's going!

Yep mine is and as she gets so sweaty when worked which is 6/7 days a week, I clipped on Tuesday! She is sooo much happier in her work now but as sods law says it's turned cold now!

If you haven't already then get an all in one lycra body suit, pop that one and leave your stable lights on for as long as possible in the evenings and turn them on again as early as you can in the mornings. It's more daylight hours that control coat growth rather than how warm they are. Put in as bright a lightbulb as you can get, minimum of 100watts, preferably a daylight bulb.

:( I HATE clipping :(

I have a dutch pony who doesnt grow much coat but just enough to need clipping, and an ISH who looks to still have a nice thin coat! (can hopefully hold off clipping him for a bit longer :D )

BUT i'm looking after and exercising a little grey connie who's looked quite fluffy all summer, and is now starting to look like a polar bear (you won't be able to tell if he's a pony or a polar bear soon). He's not shedding much, but is very fluffy, the dutch mare is shedding a little and a little fluffy, and the ISH is shedding loads and has a very thin coat!

must send blades off to sharpen....

mine is! He's getting ever so slightly fluffy, started moulting (not much though). He's staying unclipped this year.
