…. I saw just what I wanted in the local FridayAd a 5’ 9” Weatherbeeta Taka Full Neck Combo at £50, so I phoned up and never got an answer or a reply to my msgs so I had to assume that it was sold and lo and behold the item was not in this weeks paper, so I missed out there

So I had got the zest to find one for my old boy and ran a search on Ebay and was so excited (which is a rarity in me!) to find a brand new one so bid my £50 on that, even though the last bid was a lot lower, and was outbid the next day, so unthwarted, I up my bid to £60 which was my limit really, so guess what the next day I was out bid….. even tho I could up my bid I know my limits and do I really need another rug????

So I give up as I am not really into this bidding lark, I prefer to know the price and buy it

But no I keep going ……. now in desperation to appease my hunger for said rug, I have put a WANTED ad in FridayAd instead, how sad is that

Thank you ChristmasSparkle ... I had found that site but alas could not find the Taka which is 400g fill, but I may indulge in another Orican as I love the one he has and thought I would like the heavier version for when it gets really cold

Whoops I meant Full neck not High neck but at least you knew what I meant, evern if I didn't

Hi Eaglestone

I'm thinking about getting Rosie a 400g fill rug as her Fal has seen better days. Does your current Taka full neck rub Motor's mane off? Rosie's Fal one does, the bottom half of her mane and it grows back a different colour and finer throughout the summer and looks stupid!

I'd like to get her another rug with a neck but not if it rubs all her mane off!

Thanks

Agree with magic mincepie. With ebay, the best thing to do is decide what your maximum would be and enter it into the bidding at the last minute (literally). Otherwise you are just pushing the price up by bidding earlier.

Agree with this approach too, I always try and bid in the last minute. Have got quite a few bargains this way cos you can catch other bidders unawares. Am I too soft though - sometimes I feel guilty if I beat someone who has been bidding over a few days!
Have got a Taka for Murph, the neck rug doesn't rub his mine, actually helps it lie on the right side too which is a miracle.

Thank you ALL for ideas on using Ebay I will take this into consideration and use this as my ammunition (sp)

Hi Madhossy
I have the lighter weight Orion or is it Orican, (my memory is not so good nowadays an age thing!) which is their full neck version and it is brillaint and has not rubbed his main and although look huge on him I think its brill

Keep looking!!! I have a Taka combo and have to say it is a fantastic rug (if a little long winded when putting on/taking off!)

Spooks has been out in virtual tornado's wearing his and has always come in bone dry and warm inside this rug! (which, by the way os 5ft 9!!! and no it is not for sale!!)

Just spent ages re-reading my post and trying to see what I had misspelt to become sniper - did spot I had talked of Murp's mine, when I meant mane (must be the Shropshire accent!). Anyway its not me who used the term sniper it was Moodymare. |I haven't the faintest idea what one is!

Quick tip with Ebay bidding - never bid 'til the very last minute. I don't understand why people bid as the days go by because all it does is up the price!
