Why are horsey polo shirts....

I also buy blue boys polo shirts from Tesco - £5 for 3!!! They do me well enough for the yard and I wear them under a Primark long sleeve t-shirt and gilet if it's cold. Aged 10-11 fits me fine and I'm size 10-12 ladies.

The only Joules I wear to yard is my jacket. Was £90 in sale and is honestly the best thing I own. The rest I keep for 'nice', quietly smug I can wear horsey fashion with an air of authenticity :p

I got three new Joules polo shirts on eBay for about £5 each the other day, would NEVER spend £45 on one. Thought that was treating myself, the horse is the only one that gets £000's spent on his wardrobe!! :D

What on earth are you lot on about? Don't you know horsey people are absolutely loaded, you should be going out of your way to buy full price Joules stuff, not doing all this ebay and charity shop business! Everyone knows if you don't wear expensive tweeds and Dubarry boots around the yard you aren't a "proper" horsey person!
Honestly anyone reading this post would think you can own horses without being absolutely minted :) :) !!!!!!

I go to Tesco and buy school polos as well :D

Might have to look for a Sports Direct shop though.

I have a few Joules polos that were presents, and I honestly think its a load of old tat! No idea why people think its great and will pay so much for it! Load of old rubbish :D

I just bought some jods from Sports Direct for £12, washed them once in cold water and they have shrunk! Same as the Tesco ones

TBH I think sometimes you get what you pay for. My Joules polo's last me years and years, infact I think one I've had for about 8 years and it still looks fairly new :)

Have to agree with the rydale comment, I find their sizing scimpy and always buy a size up from what I buy from anywhere else. Even then it usually shrinks a lot.

Joules, only ever in the sale..stupid prices but lovely quality

People buy tops to wear around the horses? God, mainly I wear t-shirts I got free when I worked behind a bar (in the late 90s)!

For looking decent I have one aldi polo, and two primark ones. I have also bought a few fleeces, but only from primark, aldi etc as stuff gets ruined round horses, my good clothes are for away from horses.

By the way joules isn't expensive once you realise it isn't horse wear it is a "label" a joules polo is considerably cheaper than a Ralph Lauren polo, or a pringle one, or henry Lloyd, etc.

i'd have to disagree about rydales quality! they are always on offer though something like 2 for £25 act which i will by but they don't last long - they shrink in the wash no matter how closely you follow in striations and for me they are funny sizes - i don't have one that i think - WOW this fits lovely - like i do with my one and only joules one ;) - i didn't even buy this one it was a present! i do have a few rydale ones though!!

Agree with this Ryedale are rubbish and sizing is weird not a lot fits me in that shop.

Toggi tops are not so expensive I think they were going for about £15 - £20 in the local tack shop. I've bought cheap ones from places like the Factory shop e.g. 2 for £10 which I wear but they do look cheap don't hold their shape and they pill.

*note to self*

ALWAYS read the whole thread before diving in and posting a load of links that have already been mentioned!

I refuse to pay over the odds for a polo shirt - they must think we are mugs! None of the riding stuff fits me anyway - it's all made for slim people and I am fat.

I buy mine from high street shops such as millets or primark and seek out stuff with no brand names plastered all over it, hate that too about horsey stuff!

Ralph Lauren polos from tkmaxx boys section, £15 and fit really well size 12-13 fits me really nicely and I'm a size 10-12

Never buy joules, I find it a bit 'mumsy' of I'm honest. Mostly I wear primark around the horses or t-shirts I got free when I worked at camp in America!
