Feel like I need a rant today about all the toss car drivers who passed us this weekend!! Blade hadnt been up the roads much so we went out yeaterday at 7 so we'd miss most of the traffic. Suceeded in missing the volume of cars but the ones we did meet were on the whole ar**holes!!!! Had a bloke delivering a skip who came past us fair enough, he then proceeded to turn around and try to pass us again even though we were only about 25 metres away from where he was delivering it too!!!

We carried on around the street and came to a pub with the generator right on the side of the road. Blade was ok, just had a bit of a look at it and stepped out to the right when this absolute d*** head came flying round the corner. Seeing us clearly in the middle of the road (it wasnt very wide) he proceeded to accelerate past us in his shitty tin can of a car shaking his head!!! i tried to throw my whip at him but couldnt get it out in time!! couldnt believe he was so thick!! we ride in flourescent jackets so we are clearly visible and are always very polite to cars that do help us out just cant belive some people are so thick!!!!!! i wish a stone had flown up and hit his car when he'd gone pastm would have laughed my head off!!!

and on the good side blade was a star and just stood there, bless his little socks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

aww good boy blade

some people have no sense

lucky we rarely meet any idiots, most people round here are considerate

i wouldnt be so bothered if it was just an annoyance but its so dangerous!!! i've only been hacking out about 3 months from there and have already had more arguments with car drivers than i've ever had before, obviously they are a bunch of fools living round there!! haha!!!

There are hardly any cars where we hack. Not many want to initiate the spindly country lanes round the RS!!

there are alot of brain dead idiots who drive there cars at dangerous speeds at us.i had my ankle his with a wing mirror whilst hacking as the car wanted us as a new logo.
u can be the most cuteous rider but that isnt enough.my mate carrys a long stick and if they get to close she hits the car roof.maybe if people think back horses were around before the car!!

wish ours was like that, we usually meet at least 40 cars i'd say, no joke!!! just glad both my lads are quite sensible, wouldnt want to ride a skitty youngster round there!!!

its a lane the motorbikes like to use too so you usually get at least 5 of them!!!!!

Last week a friend and I were hacking along a single track lane, when a big 4x4 pickup came hurtling towards us, so I waved to him to slow down with my smiley face, he screeched to a halt wound down his window and gave us all manner of abuse, so much so that the guy whose house we were near asked if we were ok.
My friend went and reported him to the police, who said they would go and have a chat with him about driving on country roads.
There is a bloke who drives a lorry for United Utilities at a depot near our house and he deliberately accelarates towards us whilst eyeballing me! As far as I know I have never done anything to deserve this behaviour so I assume he has some kind of grudge against horses.

tell me about it, george was off for a few months having his hock spavin treated, when we started ridden work again we started off with short stints in walk along the road. Mum came with the dogs on foot as it was our first ridden work in a few months and waved at a car to slow down coming at round a bend rather fast as she thought he hadnt seen her......the guy bpulled up in his big shiny new 4x4 (now tow bar and not a spec of mud i may add but planty child seats) and tried to spit at her! Luckily it eneded up all over his organge cosmetic surgeried wife which made me smile.

*not meaning to discrimate anyone with an orange tan, or shiny 'school run 4x4' but just seemed typical of the n** head who was driving it*

I'd try to get his number from the wagon and report him to his boss, i'm sure if you explain they will be liable for any injury to you and your horse while he is deliberately driving like a d*** they wont be very happy!! you may want to be even more careful after though!!!

After encountering him yet again today that is what I am going to do, I am off work tomorrow, so I can spend all day doing the really little niggly things that never get done! Also need to write a couple of snotty letters, so shall wait until I am 'in the zone' before calling!!

haha!! feel sorry for whiever you get on the phone!!!

dont think people realise, i've been on 3 horses that have been hit by cars and its not nice!! luckily the cars have come worse off but it could have so easily been different!!

i feel like carrying some stones in my pocket and chucking them at the cars that wont slow down, the problem is if they stop and have a go there will prob be a fist fight cause i've got no patience!! haha!!!

on the plus side I was riding on the road the other day and a small white van came speeding up behind me - I turned around and waved him to slow down, which he did, and as he passed I changed my waving arm to a thumbs up, which he returned! so thankfully not everyone is bad.

A accident happened near where i keep my pony, 2 riders were coming out of a bridleway when a motorbike came steaming round the corner, spooked the horses straight into the path of a oncoming car, the horse had to be PTS there and then - the rider was apparently lucky to come out alive.... makes me so angry - the bike never stopped either..
