Sorry if this doesn't make much sense

So Mossburn resuced 8 calves along with about 25 other animals from an abusive home. The calves especially were sexually abused

3 of the calves had given up on life and were pts. The other 5 grew up a bit but were expensive, especially due to all the sudden vets bills and extra feed.
We gave two of the calves to a new home, on the promise they wouldn't go anywhere and were to be companions for a horse.

Now the stupid people have gone and given them away!!!!!!!

Apparently they were "big and too boistrous (sp)" They gave them away without once contacting Mossburn, we heard form someone else. And mossburn's name is still on their passports!

Anyway, the place they gave them too is known for bad animal welfare! 3 of their employees are involved in police matters against them. Last year they had a little bullock calf who they put to sleep because it was "dangerous" despite offers from people to take on the little bull, and other employees saying he wasn't dangerous in the slightest, he just liked to play and jump around.
YM can do nothing to get them back because of something to do with the passports and the oringinal paperwork but we are worried they're gonna end up like the little bull calf

YM also said when she went down to see them, these two are about a third smaller than the 3 we kept and certainly not in as good condition as the 3 we ketp

YM says she can't even bring herself to ring the people who gave them away as she's just too angry with them!

Why can't people just stick to their word!!! And not be so stupid! Mossburn would have taken them back if they'd rang us and said, instead of them having to stay in a less than ideal home now!!

They've been through enough already!

aren't farm animals movement restricted and checked by DEFRA??
Surely your friend was obligated to inform DEFRA that they had moved off her land??

as she is still on their passport she may be in a little bit of trouble........

ALL cattle are classed as farm animals...sorry.
during the F & M outbreak even cattle at charity/welfare/city farms were destroyed..

Rules are Rules.....

and yes, there is something you can do...contact DEFRA

If you are a rescue centre were they not loaned out, with a contract saying you must be notified if they can no longer keep the animals? We have rescue dogs and horses all have a contract that we have to tell them if there is a problem and they will have the animals back.
