Why are the houdinis always the lami prone ones?!

As of this morning, I have threatened my pony with limb amputation for every day I find him in the wrong goddam paddock...needless to say he won't have any legs left by the weekend.

He was merrily living in his bare paddock over night, had been for the past 2 months. Cue Tuesday morning and find him knee deep with a big bloated belly in the resting paddock across the fence. The only way he got out...under 3 rows of electric tape. He sulked and got stroppy in the evening when he realised he could no longer enjoy the fun of hunt the pony nut game in his bare paddock and had his muzzle firmly superglued to his face and stayed out with the herd. Cue this morning...wrong paddock. Luckily muzzle still firmly attached to head but a good attempt at getting it off:rolleyes: Means of escape...between the electric tape attached to a bloody strong battery. A good telling off and thrown back out in the right paddock and a freshly charged battery attached to the fence.

I swear my brat pony brings more stress than joy!

The only houdini in our herd of course has to be my cushings lami prone brat. Gah.

To answer your question, because they have greater incentive! :)

Does the "starvation paddock" sound like a place you'd want to stay in? ;):D

If only they understood it's for their own good. :(

Fiona is right in that no-one wants to stay in a starvation paddock but as well as that, even in as much grass as they can eat the Cushings pony always feels hungry, it doesn't have an "I'm full, stop eating" mechanism that works properly.

I feel your pain, but I'm dead jealous you manage to keep them behind flimsy electric. I've had to concrete in massive posts, fence, wire and electric by now the starvation paddock would probably happily hold a T-Rex :D
Needs must:rolleyes:

Ive spent 2 grand on post and horse netting super duper hi tension and now Piggly Haffie is trying to get a way out by eating the fence posts - as in the whole thing - she has eaten a quarter of one in a couple of days....:-OOOOOOO
