Why are you scared of using frozen semen?

Well, the vets here in Cordoba won't use frozen semen because it's too much hassle. I think they don't have the facilities to board mares so they can be monitored properly and deliveries (mainly from Buenos Aires) are sporadic and unreliable. The vet AIing PF at the mo in Buenos Aires also told me that Habano's semen wasn't great quality. Having said that, though, she told me that all the mare she inseminated took at the most on the second try. I'll let you know in about 20 days what I think!!

You are right, actual use of frozen semen was not a problem. I think in the UK we are such dull idiots we need to look at Frozen semen use in a much better light, get educated.

If you are buying from a centre that offers more than one stallion, all I say is be careful. Nothing is foolproof.
