why cant people just be nice :( :(

There's plenty of these small minded idiots about - don't think you've got them all to yourself :D

There is someone very close to where i live who just can't wait for me to fail , infact after not seeing eye to eye on a fairly small and insignificant point , we havent spoken for nearly three years.....thank god for that , is all i can say cos it's spared me from three years of bitching , sniping and the general poisonous drivell that i would have had to endure all that time.

do your own thing and just ignore them...or you could send your wild , killer horse down to me..:D

There are going to be many different opinions on every yard. There is only one that counts - yours - unless you are having problems! Whats the point in getting in to who said what rows - let them talk if they want! Just get on with your life and enjoy your new (lovely) horse. Some people are being rude/jeaslous, others are probably scared as they couldn't handle a big/young horse, so think nobody else can... Nevermind!

I told you - wear your iPod and wander around with a smile on your face - that way you can't hear them:D

Whent hey start say something along the lines of 'Thank you for your opinion if I need any help or advice will you be happy to help?' :D:D those who are genuine will say yes those who aren't will exit stage right:D:D

Or just tell them to jog on.......;):D:D

haha thanks guys :)
All your comments have really made me smile :) I needed that!

hes definitely a VERY dangerous horse!! He was kissing me when I was trying to muck out lol (theres not been any teeth so far so I laugh at him :) ) And he stood like a gem on the yard tonight :) Ill show them lot that I have a fab pony!! :D
So all of you that offered to take the dangerous beast off my hands,,, give me a month, I could end up begging you to take him hahahaha :P :D

OP he looks line a wild raging beast! How you could even dream of bringing such a brute onto a yard is beyond me ;-)

Seriously he is a lovely looking boy and I hope you have years of fun with him. Ignore the jealous people, just smile and let the comet go over your head, they will tire themselves out eventually. Sounds like they would have a field day over my 17.3 WB haha

I had the same when I got The Tank as an untouched, 2y/o.

I say that unless you pay my rent, then you don't get a say in what I do.

I moved yards not long after. Best thing I ever did. I've been on some yards filled with HORRID people over the years.

I've been on current yard for 6 years now and I never want to move. YO is lovely and everyone has a job to pay for the horses and we all mind our own business!

Good Heavens, I wondered what on earth you had bought.

He looks lovely and he's hardly a giant, is he? How big do you expect him to grow to?

I do understand though that they are probably frightened of him. When I bought my draft horse, who is one of the sweetest most affectionate horses I have ever met, but BIG, the people who were selling her were frightened of her.

Either just ignore these numpties, carry on as normal and eventually prove to them what a lovely horse you have, or move yards so that you can't hear them.

:) No hes not a giant :) Hes about 15.1 now I think, and he is a bit bum high, so maybe 15.2/15.3?
Its a good thing hes chunky as Im nearing on 6 foot, but he should easily take up my leg :)

when i got my mare in april i took her to a new yard as my old horse had died and i had given up my place at my old yard anyway when i bought her i knew she wasnt broken ect even though she was 7 and half years old she is shire x so a big girly she came off the trailer like something posessed and continued to be like that for at least 3 weeks a cow to tie up had to do everything slowly anyway 99%of the new yard were lovely but one person said to me "she was to much for me she would hurt me ect ect " now i am hacking out she is fully backed and a complete different horse so just ignore people as the more uptight you are the more your horse will feel it enjoy your hobbie sod all the other people none of their business

Just maybe there horse is the wee one in the background that they are used to handling therefore yours does look like a massive beast :)
Personally I would put up a sign saying "BEWARE, FIRE BREATHING DRAGON" on the stable door

You are a genius!!!! *goes off to find A3 paper and some colouring pencils*
Ill even get a photo of a fire dragon!! :D :D Brilliant :D

Also "the more uptight you are the more your horse will feel it enjoy your hobbie sod all the other people none of their business" This is SOOO true. I lost my temper with him the other day, Doesnt happen often but I was upset at comments and he was playing up, he wound me up, I wound him up, he wound me up a bit more. Until breaking point. I screamed at him and got really fed up, and then I had to count to 10, and put him in his stable. Once we both had calmed down again, we got on great. So I just have to remember not to get annoyed just because hes young

so true and the reason you probably shouted at him was because the other pratts winding you up so you shouted at him we are all guilty of it i have done it with my mare and she is bigger than your boy being shire x and it doent work just makes her more indignant she then stamps her feet at me lol

I dont know why big horses scare people i have a 17 hand WB built like a tank im eight stone. He was bolshey and a bit of a bully. Hence the reason i got him free. But now hes the kindest horse ever would never hurt you. I still cant get anyone to get him in for me even though a two year old could bring him I think its their sheer size that scare people. I would be very angry if someone started rumours about my horse without knowing him. good luck and enjoy. And ignore the others.

This is what bothers me about the comments that livery's make. They put pressure on you to prove that your horse is so perfect that you end up feeling stressed and snappy, while their own horses are accepted for their quirks.
Don't let them spoil this time for you and your new youngster. Beat them at their own game, when he's doing something wrong, plaster a big smile on your face and exude an air of quiet competence. That way, they won't even notice anything is going on.
Having a new horse is a special time, don't let them ruin it. Quite frankly, if they were half the horse people they seem to think they are, they wouldn't see him as a big scary boy anyway. Daft eejits.
He's beautiful with such a sweet expressive face. Lucky you.

ignore them 1st off dont get into a row with them yourself laugh it off even thow you could strangle someone . but when they know its not botherin you theyl get board and move on . i know its pathetic but thats people for you when i bought myn the biggest lot on our yard said how stunning n nice he was and he was bought by me out in ireland and arrived 1st thing in the morning so he was resting in his stable that day and all i got was tex messages all day long saying how lovely he is but 1 witch that loaned a horse on our yard because her tight husband wouldnt let her buy one was heard saying well i wouldnt of gone all the way to ireland for that i was boiling when i was told i could of hung her but i said to the person who told me in hope that it would get back well she wouldnt go down the road for one because her husband tells her what she can and cant have and the reason she has that wort on her nose and she has is because shes an f,,,,,,g witch and not another word was said

The wee horse in the background does actually agree that Jimmy is a fire breathing dragon!!:D:D
When Jimmy was staying with us (before RG took him home to the yard with the nasty people), he spent the whole day chasing my little Suzzi-Shetland around!! Suz hated him!!:D

Just ignore them Hun. Like Slinks said, put your headphones in and just get on with it. They'll soon get bored and find some else to pick on.

Put it in your will that on your inevitable death by mad horse, he's to be sent to me.
He's obviously got problems, and needs careful handling - are you sure you are experienced enough to tame him? You need to be very careful around such a big horse, and those hard eyes spell danger to me.

Seriously, he's gorgeous - don't let their insecurities get to you. You've got a lovely boy there, so up theirs LOL :D

Handsome looking horse you have :) Good luck with him. Just think, they can look at all the negatives but everytime you succeed with him they'll soon be eating their words :)

I keep to myself on my yard. Just me and my boy... Works for us, no one interferring, giving un-wanted opinions/ comments and we're happy.

It's a sad world we live in these days!

No flicker, the one in my siggie is my Roo, shes been on the yard since March and they did the same then as well :(

This is my new boy

Thanks guys, Im sure it will get better :) Its just hurtful until they stop

He is Gorgeous!!! One word JEALOUSY!!!! Do not worry about it! It will soon stop! My daughter has her new SJ'er at a livery yard as we dont have enough land or good enough facilities for him here. I also keep my youngster there (by jumbo stunning horse). The youngster has been there since he was a scrawny leggy yearling, he is now ..... well .... a gorgeous well built 2 yr old. Big strong and stunning! He should make an incredible top class Event horse and we are hoping to put him with a promising event rider as my kids just sj.

My daughters horse is a beautiful warmblood cross arab, stunning to look at and at just 5 yrs old is doing very very well.
Quite frankly most of the other yard owners are lovely having become friends of mine, i rarely go to the yard , my daughter is 17 and just passed her driving test so she sees to both these horses and I do the ponies at home. But there is one girl there who is in her early 20's who is just horrible to my daughter and much as I try to tell her it is pure jealously my daughter is often upset. Her rugs can be thrown on the floor, the girl in question ''accidentally'' tipped a wheelbarrow full of muck over our feed bins??? Why she hadnt emptied her wheelbarrow god only knows!

So dont worry!, take it from me, people are horrible. Rise above it, dont leave, thats called running away. When they see you are enjoying your horse they will soon shut up and probably feel a bit foolish!

Oh hun ((mini hugs)) ...we won't get too guey so early on ;) but listen up matey, do not waste your tears on them, does it really matter what they think, did you buy that horse for them?...no, did you spend their hard earned cash on buying him?...no did you ask for their opinions...no.

Does it really matter if he DID kick you (god forbid...after all he is a youngster, they don't do those sort of things do they;)) or if he IS a handful and has no manners as yet (didn't you know youngsters these days come a full malfunction warranty) just in case they do put a foot wrong ;)

it's none of their god dam business!

arrrgh! that's wound me right up, Kenzo not happy, not a good thing when Kenzo ges upset!

Your horse is stunning! If you get fed up send him my way. Sounds like the rest of the yard need to grow up and get a life, this is why i dont do livery yards they all seem to be the same. Its much nicer on our own.

his a beast they are right!!! ha ha - he looks lovely, lucky you!

I had similar when I brought my new horse, funny thing is now most of the yard would also like a horse "just like him"!!!
