Ive advertised for a companion for my other horse after losing one, and have stipulated a GELDING, so why are people contacting me offering fillies !

Maybe you need to re-word your advert?

(Also, it's quite funny that you're complaining about people not being able to read when you're missing some punctuation in your post. ;) )

To be fair, writing an advert and writing on an "informal" forum are two different things ;)
(feel free to rectify any of my mistakes - I am sure there are many!)

OP, this annoys me too. When advertising a 15yo gelding for sale we would have people phoning up wanting mares/youngsters, the list goes on.

I think missing an apostrophe out is not quite the same as reading Mare or Filly for Gelding,
how can I reword my ad, I supose I could put anything except a filly or Mare !!!!!!!! Sorry think smiley in wrong place not got to grips with that

Yep! Been there, was selling a 17hh horse and so many people that came to see him said 'ohhh he's big!' Errr no, he's 17hh as advertised!

Maybe put at the bottom of your ad 'please do not contact with mares/ fillys as they will not even be considered'.

I've got a gelding advertised as a companion/schooling horse. If you are interested PM me and I will forward an advert to you.

I know how you feel though, his advert states that he is unsuitable for hacking and I keep having people message me looking for a hacking horse. It's really frustrating as I keep getting my hopes up :(
