I am here at home, quite bored with nothing to do, and have been reading through some of the recent threads on here, and its making me sad to see how many people on here are falling out with others over different opinions!
Alot of these threads are put on here for others opinions, but when people dont agree, they get so defensive, and in the end on some of them, down right rude!
Just because one persons opinion is different to anothers, doesnt mean either is completely wrong.
So, come on peeps, lets all play nicely!!!!!

I think that is the nature of the beast though. :D People (me most definitely included) can get passionate about what they believe in, and also because it is written in text, you can't grasp the tone, so many things can be taken the wrong way. But i see your point and you're right :D I'm moody this week becuase someone stole a heart i had put at my dad grave :(

I certainly never mean to upset or come across as rude and if i have i do apologise. :)

Theres a lot of down right rude horse people in real life so theres bound to be some on the internet lol

I think it just seems more as theres a big variety of opinions in one small place

Hi Benson. I agree with you, anyway how are you? Haven't seen many posts from you lately. Any news on the horse hunting?

I am not too bad thanks, no luck with horse hunting, we are thinking about looking for one to do some in hand showing with until I know for sure I will be able to ride, and that I want to ride.

hmm exactly the same thing was just going through my mind when reading the post about wearing hats but oh well we all have our opinion ad obviously some people cannot agree with others.. :)

Some people just have ways of posting things that get your back up, unfortunately, and it can be difficult not to rise sometimes! Perils of the written word (although I think some people would be just as bad if they were speaking too:rolleyes:)

Yes, I've been spending more time than usual on here recently due to recuparating (sp) from an op, and there have been some pretty heated debates. I'm always a bit scared to post a reply in case someone has a go at me, but I'm a bit like that in RL too - not good at confrontation!
There are lots of horsey subjects where people will inevitable have different views but it would be nice if some people would acknowledge that there is not always only one correct answer (theirs!).

as a newbie id like to say how lovely some members are, especially those who pm'd me (i cant thank you enough :) )

Im more of a lurker as im horseless for another 2 years (i do ride).... but still nice to lurk and learn :)

but as for rows/debates.... how boring would the world be if we all agreed!!!

opinions are like ar52 holes... everyone has one!!!!

I helped out a family in NZ showing minitures - and it was such good fun, hghly reccomend it!! They are awsum little ponios (and they are little, Maestro the stallion was only 27inches tall), but wow, was he fab. Could have got very addictive! They are easy to manage, and don't eat too much and CAN share a stable too. AND you don't have to run like the clappers to show them off. LOL.
On another note, have you thought of getting a youngster to show? Something like a gypsy vanner look stunning and then when old enough could be ridden, giving you time to suss out if riding is going to be your thing?? Just an idea.

think of how bitchy a livery yard can be... HHO is just like a giant livery yard where people get the safety of sort-of-anonymous posting.

:D

hope you're okay Benson21. in hand stuff sounds like a fabby idea! i sometimes think of that when i'm having bad confidence days. it'll keep you in the horsey world, and give you the space to decide if riding is what you want to do. i know in my case, i just like hanging out with horses, and sometimes think i don't care if i never ride again. x

How's Rafferoo getting on Clippy? Have you spoken to him severely about being a sensible pony until his leg is better?:D

have given him a serious 'i'm so disappointed in you' talk, which, as my parents will tell you is FAR more effective than shouting.

vet is out of sedalin and can't get hold of any... so is talking about giving him a jab that sedates him for TWO WEEKS?!?! sounds scary.

personally i don't think walking in hand for 5 mins a day is the best thing for him (or me!). it's like it's winding him up. he's stressy in his stable now, but he wasn't before :( bit sad, but we'll get through it... i hope! :D thank you for thinking of us! :)

Sometimes it's good to have some (friendly) banter. I'm a newbie too and am learning from the 'old hands' where is rated and where maybe not so!
Like Lenehorse, I'm a bit nervous of someone taking offence now, so I'm going to sit back for a bit...:)

Tis a tricky one Clipclop:( Maybe speak to the vet about slightly increasing the space he is allowed in - like an open pen type arrangement in a barn rather than a box, if that would even be possible?

You have probably already thought of this, but maybe some stable toys could help occupy his mind - like those treat balls that they have to roll about the floor to get the food out?

I was just thinking that I don;t really get too fussed about differing opinions, and just put mine across. But then you have to think also about things like the thread about hats. Things like that are going to wind people up. I think its when people are irresponsible or blase about things that it gets my goat. But then I tend to ignore them.

I think its good to have the banter and discussions, but people seem to get soooo defensive when someone doesnt agree with them! The world would be a very boring place if we all thought the same, but opinions can be given across in a polite way.

I know what you mean. One reader had a go at me because I said, thinking it was because of something she didnt want to hear!! Some people are mean!!!

Yes Benson21,we all have oppinions and sometime they can hurt. By putting oppinions on this forum we are all leaving ourselves open to confrontation, I am going out of my way here to say that the most horrid confrontations are by the majority, the picking on the underdog, its easy to be popular and go with the flow, it takes a bit more guts to stand up to stand your ground. I feel that there are a lot of bullies on this forum I feel that they are little tiny tiny fish in the smallest of seas. Benson21 I certainly DONT mean you!

(although I think some people would be just as bad if they were speaking too:rolleyes:)

Totall agree with that!! lol
I always read loads on here but dont post much as some people are so uptight and take things in the total wrong context! Or maybe im really layed back? lol and dont know how to put emoctions in text?
