Why can't we find a pony??

Ive posted about this a few times.... but my friend is looking for a pony for her daughter and it is proving so difficult!
She has been to see about 10 ponies and all of them were either misdescribed or had a few quirks that were not mentioned in the ad. She has been travelling all over the place and it is starting to get a bit frustrating.

They had a pony which they sold as it couldnt take the little girl any further and they needed something a bit bigger, so it would be a second pony.

Needs to be 13.3 to 14.2hh, gelding, which loads easily and is generally good to handle and load in a trailer, will do pony club and local shows up to 3ft, bit of working hunter and XC, basically an allrounder. It doesnt have to be an out and out superstar and her daughter is a confident rider so could be forward going etc, ie it does not have to be bombproof or a 'mother's dream', just a nice pony who enjoys jumping and who wont throw her off every five minutes!

Can you make any more suggestions of where she could look.... have tried all the websites and now considering going to a dealer, so if you can recommend a good dealer?

I know how you feel I am looking for two at the moment and having no luck at all. I am on a budget which doesnt help, due to my KWPN mare needing a neurectomy on her suspensory ligament.

Im looking for a 12.2 to 13.2 dobbin for my son and a 14 -15hh with potential for dressage for myself. Even the youngsters Ive looked at are silly money.
 
Know exactly what you mean. Went to look at a pony today, front end matched the picture but i think the backend came from a completely different beast. Owner rode the pony first ,it put in three mighty bucks and then would not go into canter.At this point i said didn't think it was right for us.This pony was advertised as a pony club schoolmaster and was not cheap.I wouldn't even let my child sit on it! It was a 4 hour round trip. Why? Have now decided to give up looking until after the summer as just want to enjoy our current pony.Horse hunting is to stressful

My friend has a 13hh youngster. Should make a great RC/PC pony. Cheap too.

don't give up!
I viewed 32 horses over 9 months before i found "the one".
Yes it is stressful, yes it is frustrating, and people lie, all the time...but you will eventually find the right animal.
Just be careful you don't buy the first thing that comes along because you are so fed up with horse-hunting!

Ahh that's a shame! I also know of a 14.1hh, similar sort, bit younger and sharper however. Will get some info from his owners tonight and PM you if he's still for sale xD
 
I know someone who has a 13.2hh coloured gelding for sale not sure if will be too small though. He has come over from ireland so they don't know an awful lot about him, he's only youngish though but they want him ideally to go to a home to be competed. I have seen him, he's a very smart little chap. It's up near Wetherby (Yorks). At present they are basically schooling him and seeing how he goes (he is at a local show jumper/instructors yard).

If you do want any more details I can find out by all means.
