Had another rubbish day.
Went to milton keynes.Got lovely times after asking for later.Got there in plenty of time and kept him really chilled only warmed up in walk and very little trot.I was pleased with his test it was a lot less tense and no skipping from canter to trot.
Had 3 hour wait to sj.Lady steward was not the best it was running late and she kept letting people with multiples in,so we waited ages [It is not an easy job, she was doing her best, but she was a bit sharp with anyone she didn't know] Went in had first fence down, then second then stopped at third,He then went on spooky but jumping well.We used to do newcomers, what has happened to us.
Didn't go xc as I did most of the fences at the hunter trial and the ground was quite hard.
Doing regional in two weeks at broadway then we will see if we can get back to decent dressage and clear sj,he used to be good at them and xc was problem ,now its the reverse

Oh what a pants day! I was wondering how you got on and if you had managed to change your times, glad that worked out ok for you.
One of the girls from my yard went today and said the poor lady at the showjumping was struggling.its such a thankless task and i think it went wrong because she was trying too hard to be helpful! Does'nt help people like you however ,it may have been the hanging around and the ground.
I have helped a couple of people recently with their dressage and their horses have not gone at all well on the hard ground. We do all our training these days on surfaces and when the ground is hard they really feel it. The stopping and the spooking can some times be symptoms of this, so dont be too down i'm sure you'll come through this grotty patch.
Chin up hun!

I wouldn't worry too much about the SJ at MK yesterday. The course was causing a lot of problems. very few clears and a lot of criket scores. Fence 2 seemed to cuase most horses to back off which tended to set the scene for the rest of the round.

Funny how you finally crack one phase and another goes wrong. I had exactly the same last year when I lost the ability to ride XC having finally cracked the SJ

Hey (((hugs)))
MK is known for causing problems in the SJing. Dont know what it is, but reliable horses always have a spook and dont jump particularly well.

Just a blip, dont worry hun.

I retired in the PN there a few years ago, horse just didnt like it one bit but jumped well at another big event a few weeks before.

Things tend to go like that, my dressage used to be the best and the sjing crap, then turned out i was jumping DC but dressage was letting me down lol

Hard i know, but try not to dwell on it.

Vxxx
