Why choose a rescue and not a puppy..

i would also like to add to my post that some rescue centres make it sssooo hard for adoptions to take place, much harder even than having a child or adopting 1 i am sure.

whilst i agree there should be important elements and of course vita assessments made as far as the dog is concerned and adhered to, the strictness on the time a dog is left alone and the size of the garden etc etc is in some cases soooo unrealistic they make a rod for their own back. surely a safe, loving warm home is better than the kennel or impending death even if they are left longer than the desired 4 hours more than twice a week?

i had 2 home checks by 2 companies (3 if u include my latest rescue) and both said perfect, work for myself, dog comes with me, freelander so space for dog, enclosed garden, back onto a field and copse, previous experience with the breed i chose etc etc.....then the largest known rescue made such a fuss and hash of everything i basically told both centres, i have specified breed and sex only, whomever has 1 needing a home quickest i will take first come first serve basically that the other company that took ssoooo long got shitty with me!

i also offered to work as a volunteer doing home checks, nothing, no response.

they dont always help themselves but as others on here said, please dont give up. my newest pup (took me 7 months to get over loss of other 1 that came with lots of ill health) is the bestest most beautiful girl in the world

good luck xx
