Any ideas why my daughters pony is doing this;
She is usually very willing in the school, although can get bored towards the end of a lesson. Recently though she has started to kind of run out of a circle (usually in canter although started doing it at a trot too). I think she has only done it on the right rein, she nearly finishes the circle but on the last bit suddenly turns left. She unseated her little rider this week doing it. She'll go back and finish the circle and was OK on the other rein. She's done this on a few occassions now (can't remember if it's always the right rein), she's done it in the field and sandschool and I noticed when we were hacking that she wasn't cantering straight she was kind of bending her head round (sorry hard to describe).
I got on her in the school the last time she did it and she tried it on with me but with a bit of encouragement soon started to go round without a problem.
Is she just being naughty and taking advantage of a little inexperienced rider or could it be something be bothering her (teeth, back etc), her saddle has been done recently so don't think it is that.
I suspect she's being naughty but would like to rule any discomfort out. I'll be asking our instructor Moday but she always an angel when put in front of the instructor!!!!
