Don't keep up much with competitive equestrianism but seeing as all other horses were trotted up by their riders, it seems a bit weird to me that his owner trotted him up instead even if he is spicy.
Why didn't Lottie Fry trot up Everdale?

perhaps the owner wanted to, lottie is quite slight compared to the horse and he is a stallion., is the owner bigger and stronger?

It said in the H&H he was trotted out of order as he could sometimes misbehave in trot ups - if that’s the case then they probably don’t want to risk him squashing Lottie (or her groom) before she competes!
