Whenever my horse(s) get excited/curious/new horse about/in season etc around the field they really show off, go all floaty, tails in the air, neck arched and really show off some fancy footwork :D

Why do horses do this? it always makes me laugh, even my mum's big clydie x looks elegant when he does it too.

:D:D is it really just to show off? i wish my horse would move like that under saddle!

i think its a pack thing. struting there stuff making sure they are bigger, better and stronger than a the new herd member.

I have no idea, I'd like to think so :D

When I'm lunging my gelding he'll be going round like a right slob, however if a car drives past he morphs into a grand prix dressage horse  :D

hehe, my boys all do this but rarely see my big girl strutting her stuff:confused: tis obviously a boy thing, look at how wonderful i am sort of thing lol;) And my 2 welshies also do a fantastic mane toss that l'oreal would be proud of lol:D

I remember when I first bought my horse and the first time she was turned out at my yard.
WELL, she looked amazing, big Warmblood trot
The sod won't do it under saddle mind

well my welshie similarly to ibblebibbles, is capable of a l'oreal worthy mane toss as well as the flashiest trot known to mankind

my ISH WELL lol what can i say, trots neck arched, flicking toes, tail vertical followed usually by a phenomenal canter and a bucking fit and ive had him in full Piaffe on the lunge when his coloured 12.2hh friend came into the arena to do polework...Teddy though he was far too sexy to be ignored by little coloured pony!!!
