why do i bother working with horses and the public

I work at a center which offers treks to the public. Today a family came to have a trek and were happy enough it seemed when they left, the ponies all behaved amazingly as normally they are naughty little creatures and the trainee trek escorts are getting there slowly.

every precaution was taken and they were told before they left that the ground is unsuitable for any fast work yet still they had the nerve to complain after about everything!

makes my blood boil!

Good question, I think you might be happier in a different job. Customers are annoying at times, you need to learn to smile and just get on with it.

Exactly - the two go together, usually.
We used to have some 'interesting' people come for hacks, but as long as they're good to the horses, I was happy to take them out.

Not just the horse world I work in the co-op and I often get abuse and in Poundland it was certain I'd get abuse everyday. PHYSICAL abuse sometimes!

If you're dealing directly with customers you have to learn to grin and bear it.

I used to work at a zoo, working in the play area and various outlets. One of the jobs was operating this litte train ride. Parents would see the mile long queue, queue up, then complain to me that the queue was long. They CHOSE to join it! I would just smile and say "sorry". They would also argue when I wouldn't let their child under 5 years old on without an adult...even though there were 3 signs along the queue saying an adult had to go on the ride.
