People like that are A*se holes, josie deserves better. An i can see how you have tried to help them by recommended your friends horse and they have totaly behaved in the incorrect manner, they should be thanking you and all your help that you and josie have given them. Money on it says if the sharer had'nt shared josie her riding standard would be low and possible unable to ride your friends horse. Good luck with josie, keep us posted

You're completely right. Even her instryctor has said, she can now at least ride, rather than stay on. And thats thanks to Josie. She did the same for me.

Dont get me wrong, josie isn't anything special in the grand scheme of things. But she my angel. she means the world to me. She is a moo bag, and very stubburn but she makes you ride! x

Totally agree with what Katenjack, some people think horses are just for riding and don't understand the emotional tie we have with our horse. Slag my house, my car, possible even my husband but don't say a word wrong about my horse or my dog!!

What an ungrateful little mare, her and her stuck up mother. I hope you take over the ride of your friends horse, I don't think she deserves it.

I really hope Josie recovers well from her op

Point me to them and I'll give the pair of them a good slapping

This sort of thing makes my blood boil. Hopefully your friend's horse will show the brat her inadequacies (as only some horses can) and give her reason to re-think her criticism of your beautiful girl. May she, on the other hand, have a speedy and complete recovery.

I'm sorry to hear about Josie's injury although at least it gets you out of the sharer agreement with the insensitive mother and daughter

Oh I'm sorry, your horse's serious injury has ruined some little brat's summer? Well, welcome to the real world for the brat! Clearly time she learned that horses aren't machines and when they get broken they take time to heal.

Attitudes like this (from both mother and brat) make me want to slap them. I never had my own horse as a child and relied totally on begging, borrowing and helping other people. Sometimes decisions would be made that I didn't like, for example pony I was riding being sold on, but hey, it was tough luck for me, it wasn't my horse. I just had to get on with it and be grateful for having anything to ride at all.

This little madam and her mother need a slap in the chops, especially as they are having the benefit of having a horse to ride with none of the responsibility of actually owning one.

They should be honured that you let them share your baby, please dont apologise for your mare, it does not matter if she is worth £1million or £1 she is priceless to you.

The girl did not mind sharing her but I bet they are not so keen to share the cost of the vet fees!!!!!

Hope your girl makes a speedy recovery

I don't know how you could be so restrained. I'd have told them to naf off and get their own horse so that they could experience the other side of horse ownership. Worry, expense, time, did I mention worry.

My horse has had the shockwave and subsequent surgery for PSD and we are mid way through the recuperation. I am by no means confident that she will be sound enough to ride. Had some spiteful little brat and selfish mother had the audacity to make those comments to me they would no longer be welcome at the yard or any other in the area.

Hope your Mare gets better soon. Thats what is more important.

So sorry to hear about Josie, I know what she means to you. Hope she's a model patient (which I expect she is) and it comes right with time.

I would be livid and up for assault by now if ratbags had said that to me! You're too restrained by half L!

Cripes, what horrible, insensitive, nasty, revolting, uncaring, self absorbed people. You are sooooo better off without them. Poor Josie, I hope she recovers quickly.

Thanks again everyone. I feel better this morning. I'm not a confrontational person, and unfortunately people seem to notice this and use it to their advantage.

I wont be standing for it any more though. I'm fed up of feeling put down and sad because people make me. I need to stay up beat and hopeful for Josie. So I will.

thankies again x x x

What awful people!!!! I'd be telling the mother why the horse has got the injury and that you want half the vet bills paying!!!!

Hope that Josie makes a full recovery as you dont need added hassle on top of Josie's injury

I think Id just have a word with friend and say actually you've changed your mind and you want the ride, then you can personally have the pleasure in telling daughter she now doesnt have a horse to ride

Tell you ex-sharer that you friend wants just you to ride their horse and not her. Leave the ungrateful madam with nothing to ride.

[/ QUOTE ]

I did think about it. I dont actually know if she'll be able to handle her. So I'm hoping (oh god thats not nice) erm, wondering if it'll be a case of give her enough rope?

[/ QUOTE ]

To be honest though, if this girl was probably the cause of Josie's problem through her bad riding - do you want her to possibly ruin this horse? I would be telling your friend what the vet said!

Either way girl and mother sound thoroughly horrible people!

[/ QUOTE ]

I have told him, dont worry. Was worried about coming across as a bitch though, so think I may have pussy footed around it a bit.

I would have been more direct. If she does something similar to his horse, and the vet says sharer again was the cause, I wouldnt like to be held responsible. Just let him have the facts so he can make up his own mind.

The daughter and mother both sound like ignorant cows - I wouldnt let them anywhere near your horse again. Thank god she doesnt own her own horse - imagine if she did and it broke before her precious summer, what on earth would she do then?

Hope Josie's recovery goes well!
