Why advertise for a full or part loan or share wanted then not respond.

i spent the last week responding sometimes twice to these want ads and got no response arrgh

yes or no would suffice.....

I suppose some people just don't check that often if they have a reply, although you would have thought that when putting an advert up wanting a share you would check it as often as possible (or thats what i would do).

Perhaps they are busy and have forgotten/are away etc?

Failing that just plain rude :p

they maybe on holiday/hospital.

The share may have been taken - your email may have got lost in the internet world.
They may not like enquiries via email - they may wish to speak to the proposed sharer. xx

i know it sounds daft, but rather than advertise myself, and get reponses from people who could just be surfing the net and think oh the sounds ok i'll email and not be serious, i thought i'd search wanted ads, thinking if these people have gone to trouble of advertising they must be serious and will probably state what theyre looking for/theyre abilities......not one answer out of 23 emails.....

I sympathise. I've been responding to people who have advertised their horses for loan, and had a really poor response. Surely it's just courtesy to email back and say they've either found a loaner or have had a huge response and will get back to me if they can't find someone suitable?

I'm finding this - got to find a sharer for my mare 2-3 days a week and responded to an advert from a teenager (would prefer an adult) - got one email back saying how far away was she and mum and dad will drive her wherever she wants. Responded (against my better judgment as that sounded v childish to me!) and had no response! (Not that i'm disappointed it must be said!)
