Why do people say they'll do things when they don't mean it?

Sorry this is not really horsey - just a bit of a rant

We're doing the Three Peaks Challenge for Mencap this weekend, and a lady in the village told us ages ago that she would have our dog while we did it. I rang her yesterday and she has no recollection of offering (both myself and OH remember it)!!! I even said at the time 'no no don't worry she can go n kennels etc...' but she insisted - now she's backed out

Problem is, we can't put her in kennels as her vaccinations have gone over the date and she's had to start the course again, and now there isn't enough time between when she had the jab and the weekend. The only relatives we can think of that could have her are on holiday (3 lots of relatives!) and now we're in the poo!

I wish she had never said she would have her in the first place. She also said she would look after my horses for me and didn't seem very keen on that when I mentioned it. I'm really annoyed about it

Sorry...rant over - it's just that I've had this happen a few times lately - people offering to do things and then 'forgetting' they offered....

Have you tried Petpals? We used to use them until we found a retired couple who walk our girls weekdays and board them at their house when necessary but Petpals are great too and fully insured. We have them at the mo while our regular walker is on holiday. If you go onto their website there are franchises all over and if the one in your area can't handle such a short notice request another one may be able to help you. http://www.petpals.com/

Hi, thanks for that

I've just tried the one in our area but she doesn't do boarding. She told me to call the Hinckley one but there's no answer. I've left a message so hopefully they'll call back soon!

Haha thanks

She's a good girl and if we'd had more time the boarding kennels would have loved to have her (she goes there to be groomed) it's just a pain about her jabs!
