Why do people think it is ok...

Something similar happened to me on Stourbridge Common, Cambridge in the late 70s, only the owner put me up to it as a joke and the 14.0hh pony simply took off suddenly without bucking when I tried to get him to walk on, leaving me on the ground and the owner and family having a good chuckle at my expense. Apparently the pony was unbroken. I am older and wiser now.

(not the pony in question)

I suspect my own boy would behave in a similar fashion - but at 16.2hh and very athletic (sport horse), he'd cause rather more damage to the person attempting to climb on . . . would I then be liable? And who could I claim as liable for my subsequent inability to mount safely b/c of his memory of the numpty scrambling onto his back?

Idiots.
