Now Ive had a hell of a year last year, I spent the whole year trying to nurse my neddy back to health only for him to deteriorate more and have to make the awful decision.

Now I am sick to death of the site of broken Neds. I buy one, she passes the vet, shes perfect and this is entirely not her fault.

Got to yard this morning, One hind leg is swollen, no cuts, no heat, not lame.. so I think shes nocked it!

I was so fed up of bad luck with horses that I sold up and gave up! I now look after a couple for someone but don't have the responsibility or worry of owning my own anymore.

Hope it's nothing serious and that whatever it is heals quickly {{{HUGS}}}

I no it snothing to worry abut. It jsut annoyes me.. and this weather is doing my head in! Finally have a horse that I can ride and enjoy and I cant.

Sorry think im premenstral and ill.. making me pretty self centred to be honest =o(

There's a lady at my yard who has lost two horses in the past couple of years, both due to incurable leg problems. She bought a gorgeous young horse just before Christmas and has been doing really well with him, only to have a dressage judge tell her a couple of weeks ago that he was unlevel. The vet couldnt find anything wrong so advised her to rest him, but last week she felt he wasnt getting any better so arranged for some more intricate tests. It turns out he's done his DDFT, and just yesterday came back having had an operation to hopefully repair it. He's off for the year now though

It's such bad luck for her - no one treats their horse better than she does - he never goes out on hard ground, is never worked hard on uneven surfaces. Real bad luck

hey i can really apreciate how you feel- my hw cob goes lame and retires a year or so ago... i get a new ned on loan in jan he has to be put down in may... ok so fat man still on the go for the love bit nope not to be end of june we find him in the field after a huge heart attack.... and to top it all of the hideous spoilt monster that treats expensive nags and tack like crap has asked daddy to buy her a new nag just cos he can ( i no it sounds like sour grapes- maybe it is) but why an=m i unable to afford or find a remotly decent nag in my price range when horrid people get what they want- sorry rant over xx

dont be sorry we all need to moan at some point and if it makes u feel better and get nice messages from lovely people then all the better for it xx

((hugs)) to you. Sometimes these things happen, but hopefully it will be a slight injury and recover quickly ((vibes))) hoping it gets better really soon.

Keep your chin up, you will get through it all

hun i total know what your going through, last year my boy was crippled told he would never be able to be ridden again and possible that he wouldn't even come paddock sound, so we made the choice to buy another only for that to get strangles within 2 weeks of having it.

i hope cato gets better soon and remember things can only get better
