I have advertised a grass livery vacancy ( with optional stable ) for a youngster to keep my 2yr old company as we want him to interact with those his own age but I am besieged with people contacting me about their 6 - 28 yrs old horse / pony and would that do as they are ' very playful'.

Is there such a shortage of grass livery that people are hoping I will take any age ? I would have put in my add if I wanted older / any age horses and I personally wouldn't answer an add where someone was offering something different to what I had.

Seems silly tbh.

Not silly imo. It is most important to have similar aged companions as a foal, although a companion of any age is better than none at all or just the mother. If a 6 year old is playful then it is no different to a 2yo. In fact better, because it hopefully would have some proper education behind it that it can influence the younger horse with, whilst still having the benefits of a playmate.

He does have older field mates for the manners side so did want something his own age. Oldies don't really play very much, just eat.

I'm not sure some people read adverts at all! I have had people ring me up many times and ask me all the questions I have already answered in the advert! It is annoying.
