why does it all have to be so flipping awkward???? general rant!

oh my god why? ive just moved to london from northern ireland to do a saddlery diploma which is not offered in NI.

The student loans company has now said they wont give me a student loan because the course is a city and guilds course??? what??? its still full time further education?! also the local library board has said yes they will pay the fees and give me £300 for the year but no more..... how does that work? i could understand if the course was offered in NI and i chose to go to london but its not and they just wont give me a loan! -yes a loan, not even a grant! and i will be taking my qualification home to NI -one of the horseyest places on earth!

oh life is pants. looks like i have to live on fresh air for the next 2 years. oh poo.

Living off fresh air...Trust me i completely 100% know what your feeling!!

I am at uni...I pay me fees myself and get an absolutely crap loan. (In the region of 2 grand for the whole year, so works out about £160 a month)
I have my own house, a car, 3 dogs, 4 cats, and the most recent addition, the horse.......And i'm still a student at university....Post-Grad granted, but still...
I still fail to understand how i do it...lol.
You get used to eating beans on toast for weeks on end and wearing holey socks, honest

Hi there - sorry, but the Student Loans Company will only give loans for Higher Education courses, not Further Education. Does your College offer any bursaries that you may be eligible for? How about EMA? This site - HERE - may give you some ideas.

Hi I did the same course 2 years ago (say hi To Line and Christer for me!). I was entitled to a bursury for my living accomodation which I am sure you will also be entitled. I also managed to get a part time job which may the whole thing possible. Hang in there and good luck. Line is not as bad as she is made out to be
