My poor ickle white greyhound is fated in some way I am sure, I have just had the most incredibly stressful 20 minutes on a dog walk
I took them their normal route (through 16 acres of wooded nature reserve) and Islay took off after a deer so Flick followed her. They are always doing that, I never think anything of it now, as they always come back...
until today, when Islay came back and Flick didnt
Flick is not the brightest dog, and is very much a follower not a leader, so she would never go off of her own accord. After 5 minutes of calling and whistling it was clear she had managed to get lost and couldnt find her way back

I spent another quarter of an hour walking up and down the path in the woods, whistling and calling her, with the other two on leads. I had just given up and was about to go home, in case she had gone back that way, when she appeared from completely the other direction. She was panting and shaking so much I thought she might collapse, she is covered in mud and lame on two legs out of four, so goodness knows where she went

I have brought her home, given her a drink and a couple of teaspoons of honey for shock, and have tucked her up on a nice warm duvet
Honestly, dogs, who would have them
You never know quite how much you love them until there is a chance they may be gone....
