Why does my pony poo against the wall??

As the title guys... why does my pony poo up against the wall?? Is there a reason for it? :confused: My friends pony does exactly the same thing. It baffles me! :rolleyes:

When Rox is in his stable, if he has a poo, he presses his bum to the wall and poos on it. He has got a lovely border of poo stains :o - the farmer is most impressed with him... not! :rolleyes:

Here is a photo of the cheeky little chap, you can see the poo splattered wall! :p This was the first time he had worn back travel boots, so naturally the monkey was trying to pull them off. :D

Has anyone got any ideas? Does anyone elses horse do this too? xx :D
 
don't be complaining about it, they are sooooo much easier to muck out!! We have one that does it too and trust me, the stains come off with a pressure washer!! I think they do it to keep their stable neat and tidy!!!

Time will tell when he is stabled this winter - he has always lived out! I hope he is as easy as my bay to muck out! :) They are funny animals at times eh! xx :D

The poo is in a perfect line against the wall lol clever boy. I bet it is easier as then all you have to do is grab poo with fork as when your horses trambles it in to his bed its so much harder to muck out!! x

Lets hope so, I have been dreading it thinking he would trash his stable at night! He's only two, so as he grows he will be making his own personal height chart with poo! xx :D

Yeah that would be a good idea, but Mr. Wood might not be too impressed if I did lol! He white washes both yards every year anyway. I wonder why Rox does it though? Bloody males, they're confusing! xx ;) :p
 
Our little rescue pony does this. I tried power washing the kick board wall last year and today I've just had to replace the wall with brick that I can wash! (The boards were also riddled with woodworm and really old so needed changing any way). I put it down to the fact that in his past life he may have been left cooped up in a stable that wasn't cleaned or on such little grass that he had to do that to preserve what little clean bed or grass he had - poor mite. Thats probably entirely wrong - he probably just does it to anoy me.
 
My big 17'2 does this, reverses to the wall and poos, all in a pile along the back wall. So i just make sure I leave a gap or about 1ft at the back of his bed and can muck out with a shovel. trouble is being his size the poo is like elephant droppings and can break a shovel with ease. he is just clean and tidy, has done it all his life - i got him as a 3 year old and he is now 13. he will also reverse up to the wheel barrow when I am mucking out and poo in there. Just a kind considerate horse.
 
bloomin heck, never seen anything like that ! Fantastic - and no poo to lie down on and rollin either, my boy's speciality ! cracking horse :D any more pics ? sm x
 
No idea but Kelly does it too - usually after we've painted the stable lovely fresh and clean..!!
And SM she still poos on the floor, lies in it, then covers it up!!! I "finish" mucking out go to throw her bed out and there's a hidden poo staring at me!

Some gelding are just very clean and like to poo in the same place. Your lucky with him, just hope that he continues to be tidy when hes stabled for longer, my mare is sooo unbelievabley messy! Not nicee atall lol
