So when im schooling and i ask for just trot or canter going into the gate she will put her ears back, once we are in the gate she puts them forward, anyone know why? do horses do this? if we are hacking she doesn't put her ears back in walk/trot/canter/gallop 0.o?

Can just mean she is listening to you, her ears will flick back towards you as that's where her attention is. I'd not worry about it :-)

My horse does this when I half halt to change something, one or both ears flick towards me. They don't come flat back against his head though :)

What do you mean by going into the gate? If it is like a gateway horses tend to be more careful then as that is where a predator would ambush them.
