My boy's colicking again :-( at least I think he is, but might be tying up, though he lives out 24/7 and has low starch diet 4 tummy trouble so doubtful, but I cant get him to move, his pulse and resp is through the roof and he keeps looking at his belly and shifting his hind legs. I feel totally helpless, and vet is at least another 20mins away.

Sorry 4 rambling post but on my own with him and feeling awful :-(

Hope vet can sort easily - I'm also wondering why I ONLY have to call the vet on a Sunday am (clearly so does everyone else as they are already out on a call).

One of my pigs doesn't look so well after having her piglets so hopefully nothing but why do they never go downhill a 2pm on a Thursday!

Could also be laminitis with the weight shifting and refusing to move. Doesn't matter how quick the vet is, it always seems like an age when you are worried!!

Vets been, she's unsure which it is too! As I thought, management makes azatouria highly unlikey, but his symptoms not classic colic either. She's taken blood to run tests on, and given him strong painkillers and is coming back in a few hrs if necessary.

Thank you everyone for your well-wishes, he's still not looking great, and the 12hr painkiller she gave him seems to be wearing off already :(

Polo's mum - i totally agree, always on a Sunday, or weekday after 5.30pm! And not for lack of opportunity at other times of the day/week - he's only outside the backdoor so seen to very regularly and often!

Dizzydancer/glenruby, please forgive my ignorance, but are you thinking lami because of the overnight frost?? He's a Tb, on Alfa-a Molasses free, High fibre cubes, micronised linseed and Speedibeet, with brewers yeast added. He has adlib hay, and is out 24/7 on grass which is pretty rough, but a well draining field, without any really muddy patches except the gateway. He's in walk/trot work, only hacking out once or twice/week, is neither over nor under weight, but could do with more muscle which will come in time (came out of racing last Oct).

Any advice welcome! :o
